Re: Wood Elves

And Dryads (which could make a bunker) are a poor choice because they are simply a poor choice period. Not sure why all the Dryad hate. Point wise their the same as Witches. No frenzy, but they get +1 T, same base attacks, Fear, and universal Hatred, plus a 6+ ward. I don't think they're the end al...

Tullaris was almost worth it in 7th. On the charge you would wipe out the enemy front rank (probably two ranks) and prevent return attacks, while Tullaris' fear could force an autobreak. Plus his sword does something cool (cant remember what, reroll to wound or something?) No autobreak. Unless I re...

"CoK Deathstar" without Hydrabanner and with only 9 CoK? I'm so, so dissapointed. You won't need the PoK on your BSB when whatever he's in combat with dissintegrates instantly. Besides, you already have MR(3) and Ring of Hotek in the unit, and a 5+ wardsave from the Cauldron if you should ...

Bottom: 3: Manticore - cool but useless. Best way to keep your Manticore alive? Keep it on the shelf. 2: Assassins - also cool but also useless. They work if you equip them with rendingstars, but then they are very expensive at doing something they're not designed to do in the first place, while if...

Most (but not all) Empireplayers don't have a Master Engineer near their Helblaster though, (he usually inspects the mandatory, nearby, Great Cannons), so it usually fires with BS3, meaning it hits on 5+ at long range. Then add the fact that it has a massive chance of missfiring and the helblaster w...

Not to sound rude, but I suggest you simply buy a new armybook, especially since you apparently intend to keep playing with/against High Elves.
Asking for pointcosts (and blatantly revealing them) are against forumrules.

And White Lions are the best infantry HE got against Warriors of Chaos.

With CoB it's 71+D3 attacks from the Witchelves + Death Hag attacks. Personally I'd just ditch the Hydrabanner and have the Cauldron as my BSB. All those points for 10 S3 attacks and 1 S4 attack isn't just worth it in my book, especially since your Death Hag BSB is very fragile. (61+D3 S3 AP poisone...

If I were to use a Cold one BSB myself, I'd give him:

Cold One, Heavy Armour, SDC, Shield, Whip of Agony, Dawnstone.
1+ rerollable AS and 4 S5 AP attacks with hatred is nothing to sniff at.

After a long break - 2500 pts of footslogging goodness!

Greetings. After a long break from my Druchii, I've repraired and de-dusted (if that's even a word?) them, and now I'm eager to bring them to the battlefield! List as follows (not meant to be uber-competitive), and feedback welcome: -Lords- Dreadlord - 240 pts Armour of Darkness, Whip of Agony, Pend...

Everyone calls their opponent "cheesy" when they fail to take it into account and get blindsided by it. He probably just didn't want to lose a warmachine, and was annoyed that you actually had a way of combating his shooting troops that didn't involve walking forward and dying in a hail o...

Indeed, the fact that a cannonball can hit both the rider and mount is both stupid and illogical.
I think this is a fact that all WFBplayers agree on (even Empire/Dwarf players).

It's not really that 'easy' to make an Unkillable lord in 8th Ed anymore, but that depends to the changes to stacking wardsaves and regeneration. On foot, our best saves is either 1+ AS and PoK, or 1+ Rerollable AS. On a Cold One, our best saves would be a rerollable 1+ AS with Regeneration. (AoES a...

No, I don't think the melee Assassin is worth it one bit.

The Rendingstar assassin -might- be worthwile against opponents with little/no magic/shooting, but that's about it.

For defense, the sphinx got a warriors WS, Malekith's Tx2, as many wounds as a hydra and the same lousy armoursave that our Black Guard have. 14x Witchelves (7x2) with BoM will on average do 5,35 wounds to it after saves. If that fails, just pelt it with RxB shots. The Sphinx lives on it's high toug...

Cold One, Heavy Armour, SDC, Dragonhelm, Soulrender, Dawnstone.
1+ rerollable save (2+ ward against flaming), S6 AP magical attacks.

Cold One, AoES, Soulrender, SDC, Shield.
2+ save, (1+ against shooting), regeneration and S6 AP magical attacks.

Removing guess range didn't make cannons any less accurate among players with more than a few games on their back. Even players 'skilled' in guessing would've had a problem 'guessing' the bouncespot to be exactly 10"/8" infront ot the back end of a hydra/dragon/etc. Now you just say "...

You could agree within your gaming group to each have the option to refuse to play one particular scenario. So, as a wood elf he could refuse to play the death or glory scenario (which, to be honest, I do think is a pretty poorly worked out scenario, they could have come up with something much more...
