You do not have to make it into manticore, it would be a waste of such nice griffon model. Griffons and manticores have very similar stats and in Sundering trilogy DE lords used griffons as much as manticores, so I have no problem with having my dreadlord on dark griffon.

I have that HE lord on griffon and I use it as slaaneshi dreadlord on manticore and it looks awesome.

Both HE and WE can easily be made into DE simply by dark and sinister colour scheme.
