Re: First 8th Ed game with Dark Elves
A GM would be ideal, helping my addled brain remember more complex rules. I guess I have been spoiled with the simplicity of AoS lately But it was great to see my lovely Druchii models ranked up the way they should be. It is definitely more cinematic and more representative of a larger battle. I rea...

Re: First 8th Ed game with Dark Elves
Well, I forgot so many rules after such a long time away from playing WFB and I had so many AOS rules at the forefront of my thinking, I had to keep checking in the BRB to make sure I was doing the right thing. My opponent was more au fait with WFB than AoS so it was easier for him. But it was aweso...

Re: First 8th Ed game with Dark Elves
Thanks T.D. It was a very close thing. The first few turns were awful for me but once the Pegasus Master got in to combat and the Witch Elves started doing their thing and the Warlocks started erasing whole units from the table with their IF Doombolts things turned my way. It was deffo a game of 2 h...

Re: First 8th Ed game with Dark Elves
Thanks for the advice.
Unfortunately, the Swordmasters made a very long charge in to the Executioners so I didn't have much choice but to take it

First 8th Ed game with Dark Elves
I eventually managed to play my first 8th Ed game in over 6 months using my new Dark Elves army and it was a blast! First of all, I soon realised how rusty I was playing the game I used to be very experienced at. I forgot so many rules. I guess Ive gotten used to playing AoS using my Dark Elves. But...

Re: First real AoS game
Played another game today against another friend, this time using 105 wound armies. So my opponent brought a heavily magic, summoning and shooting army of Tzeentch and it proved to be a very very hard nut to crack! I killed his Tzeentch DP twice, his Tzeentch chariot twice, his herald of Tzeentch 3 ...

Bloodwrack Sisterhood
After having a lot of fun and a lot of success with the current incarnation of my DE AoS army, I bought the Grand Alliance Order tome to see what formation would grab my attention and spark things up a tad. Looking through al the formations, the one that stands out is the Bloodwrack Sisterhood: 1 Ca...

Re: First real AoS game
Played the game today against a friends combined nurgle chaos and skaven army and it was a hoot! Thanquol and Boneripper are stupendous with a shooting attack that did 8 mortal wounds to my poor hydra without having to roll a dice!! But in the end it was another victory for the druchii!! The combina...

Re: 2500 point 8th Ed list against Empire
Thanks for the great advice guys. I don't really know what my friend will be taking apart from cannons, stank and gryffs so it will be a fun surprise for me when we eventually meet for the game. I like the idea of changing the lores for metal and beasts so I will check that out. I will also have a t...

Re: First real AoS game
Well, it is time for my 3rd game which will be against another friend's Chaos army. This will be a challenging battle as he summons large blocks of Warriors and Knights, and his Khorne dudes pack a serious punch even when they are killed! So, my plan will have to be to take out his summoners on Turn...

Re: Advice against Empire
Thanks for the fabulous advice guys
I had totally forgotten about Lore of Metal and had been going to take Life on my Level 4.
I was planning on taking 4 RBTs.
I will post my full list in the army list section for advice and comments.
Thanks again

Advice against Empire
Good day all, I will be playing my first game of 8th Edition using my Dark Elves and I will be facing a friend's new Empire army. So, my question is, what DE units are particularly useful against Empire, in particular DemiGryffs and Steam Tanks? I will post my provisional list a bit later but all ad...

Re: First real AoS game
Thanks for the comments particularly about the Retributors. I will ensure I target them first with my shooting and magic but I am really looking forward to this game as I haven't faced Stormcast Eternals before. I am beginning to get a real feel for what is strong in the Dark Elves AOS armoury and w...

Re: First real AoS game
Played my second game using my Dark Elves against my friend's combined Dwarf and Empire force and it was an exciting, close, fun and stimulating game. We had to call it at the end of the 3rd turn and we called it a draw....he lost 5 war scrolls and I lost 4. My MVP unit was the Executioners again. T...

Re: First real AoS game
Congrats for the win! Just make sure that the game remains enjoyable for both players, if you wish to have partners for long. Thanks for the congrats! The game was a lot of fun for us both, a lot better than last time and his army was terrifying to face. I had to really think about how to weaken hi...

Re: First real AoS game
Well, its the first time Ive really enjoyed playing AOS as Im a die hard 8th player but Im looking forward to playing more games using the comp system I tried. I do think, however, Im going to have to limit myself to 2 RBTs as they are just SO powerful in AOS. This means I get 2 more Warscrolls to c...

First real AoS game
Hi there, Well, I played my first real game of AoS against a good friend where we used a new comp system to see how it played, and I have to say I loved it! I used my new Dark Elves against a HUGE horde of angry dwarf layers including Fyreslayers and one of those magma beasties. It was quite impress...

Re: Female Black Guard ideas
Thanks for the suggestion of the alternative miniatures guys. Has anyone actually used the Gamezone models? What is the quality of the model like? They look like they could be an interesting model to fill the gap while I make Black Guard using the old metal GW models as in Lion of Flanders pics........

Re: Female Black Guard ideas
Thanks for that but the heads are not the problem.
I am trying for a more female torso than the BG have.
I have used the female DE Wych torsos on my Blackshards and Black Riders but that is an expensive solution for a large unit 20+

Re: Best way to use Hellebron
Thanks for all the advice guys. I had been planning of fielding Hellebron in a block of 30 WEs on foot beside the COB to prevent cannon sniping with a Death Hag BSB on the cauldron, but I am being drawn to placing her in a block of Executioners for the frenzy and ITP she will give to them. I will ha...
