I can't find anything in the rulebook about shields removing fast cavalry and the army book also doesn't say anything about that (which I can see). So I think I'll keep the shields and see how many black guard I can take instead of executioners.

As an aside: why would one choose to deploy Bleakswords over Dreadspears? They cost the same and I have yet to find any benefit of having a sword over a spear? Am I totally missing the point?
