Re: 1500 All Comers List (8th Ed)

Hi

I can't find anything in the rulebook about shields removing fast cavalry and the army book also doesn't say anything about that (which I can see). So I think I'll keep the shields and see how many black guard I can take instead of executioners.

Thank you for the help!

1500 All Comers List (8th Ed)

Hi all, I've written a 1500 point list mainly to play against HE and WoC, but I don't really want to tailor the list too much (it feels a bit cheesy). Any thoughts would be appreciated. Lords: Supreme Sorceress (Dark): Level 4 Ring of Hotek Dispell Scroll Ironcurse icon 300 Heroes: Master: BSB Halbe...

WoC Ideas (8th Ed)

Hi all I recently dropped some cash and picked up a bunch of WoC to start up and army there. However, I have yet to win a game with them. My impression of them was that most people seem to pick up a bunch of Chosen and fill their core with Chaos Warriors. I've done this and been brutally redirected ...

Places to play Warhammer online?

Hi all I've been getting back into Warhammer again and have been playing a fair bit in person with my brother, however we live in different cities so it's not convenient. Is there any decent (preferably cheap or free) tabletop stimulator online? His laptop can't run Total War so it's not really an o...

Re: 8th Edition 1000 points vs High Elves (Some large pictur

I dug around the rulebook and found that his charge was legal. Units that have made a vanguard move aren't allowed to charge. It definitely needed some support, I guess that I was just overly-focused on denying the dragon princes' charge. Ultimately, I need to improve my movement phase to prevent th...

Sorc on peggy is great! Do not hesitate. For your terrain, there are ways to create some for little money, using whatever small items (and plastic scrap) could be found at home. See Ideas for all the 8th ed terrains This is a very useful thread, thank you! Sorc on peggy is great! Do not hesitate. S...

Re: 8th Edition 1000 points vs High Elves (Some large pictur

Thanks for all the advice and apologies about the feet I played a second game against him at 1500 points and lost again. I started off dominating with a level 3 life mage in a bunker of darkshards which actually proved to be pretty effective at shooting his archers. (My board hasn't really got suffi...

As an aside: why would one choose to deploy Bleakswords over Dreadspears? They cost the same and I have yet to find any benefit of having a sword over a spear? Am I totally missing the point?

Re: 8th Edition 1000 point list vs. High Elves

Thanks for the reply! The warlocks sound like a good idea. Where would I slot in the master? In the corsairs? The hydra seems pretty nasty, I'm just not too sure how to employ it. Does one just point it at the biggest enemy unit and try to stomp them? That's probably wise; I suppose that I need to f...

8th Edition 1000 point list vs. High Elves

Hi all I'm back to the hobby after a short 5 year break . I wasn't a very experienced player when I left, but the lure of WFB has drawn me back (Alas it is gone now). I'm busy strategising about an upcoming (very) casual series of games against High Elves and possibly Skaven. I've put together this ...

I have also been advised to use magnetic sheeting on top of the cardboard with bits of metal on the bases of the models

Re: An idea...

I definitely agree on the bits, nothing wrong with a bit of shameless pillage of other races too. Hopefully I can find a decently priced crapcast hydra now, but honestly their prices are downright ridiculous. Also in your experience how long after the initial release (the second wave in this case) d...
