Actually my original intent was to see if people like the idea of making the beastmaster a little more useful/different/fluffed, and then my suggestions were simply new things we were trying. I was actually hoping people would contribute ideas to make the beastmaster interesting, I was definately no...

How much for a scorpion? They have killing blow too right? Well the giant sounds like it would kick the hydra's butt all the time. Haven't play tested it though.... roughly worth the same points? I suppose it causes terror also. Hmmm. How are their other core troops? Like VC? They sound scary. Hopef...

You should not give a fix cost to T and W, but one based on the base T, basically. With a T of 3 to start, more than 25 points for a +1 T would be overpriced. In my revision list, I raised the armour save for this suit of armour to 4+ and reduced the cost to 80 (25 for +1T, 40 for +1W and 15 for +3...

Metallurgist: Rather strangely, it was your post I was refering to, but I noticed it over on the WPS. Baron Cortez: I'm afraid I don't agree with you. Dark Elves WOULDN'T use slaves in a simular way to Skaven, as the Druchi value their slaves too highly. Basicly, the slaves are the general commerce...

Re: The Dreaded Beastmaster
Langmann, I'm sorry but I still think the items you've suggested are a load of rubbish. They are quite simply just too good for the points! If you want suggestions for improving beastmasters, then I imagine that they would do breeding programs to produce stronger and more agressive creatures, and /...

I surpose, but still, having taging along with your highborn (The BM would be on a manticore of coarse) would be rather cheesy . Beastmasters die fast. Also could make the salve of healing 10 points. I would never send him along on a manticore like that, would be a waste of points, plus a great tar...

Re: The Dreaded Beastmaster
Salve of Healing 5 points : may be taken numerous times, can be used to heal a wound of any beast in base contact. Me thinks that this is a wee bit powerful! Especially as... a) It can be taken multiple times b) It costs five points c) It can be used on beasts (which would include Manticores, Drago...

The Dreaded Beastmaster
I envision the beastmaster as being able to lead an army of beasts or at least a small number to aid a DE army. He should himself not be a combat monster, but should use beasts in a concerted effect. Therefore I think the beastmaster should have magic items available: Salve of Healing 5 points : may...

Would like to see the beastmaster play more of a role. Like having magic items he could use to enhance the monsters in the game, ie: have an ability to mind control monsters, heal monsters that return to him etc... he's useless in combat, and shouldn't be a combat monster because nobles and assassin...

Re: The most Cheesy item in the new BM list.
Sweet tears of Khaine, has anyone read the description Staff of Darkoth yet? It's a 25 point magic item that counts as a Bray Staff, and also automatically gives the weilder the knowledge of the Unseen Lurker spell. This is simply horrible, when you combine this power with troops that have M5 and a...

Re: Cool...
Now that was lucky... Z I was very surprised. Its hard, as you are aware, to take out any of the other race heroes with druchii. Only if you get the first hit and you kill does it usually work. Most of the time we die. The other thing I have noticed is that many races get the +1 magic armour, while...

I have 2 hydras, a regular model from the army book and one I have converted up to be a spellthirster, by removing 2 of the heads and replacing them with the plastic hands from the malekith dragon. Side by side in larger games they not only look cool on the battlefield, they scare the bejesus out o...

This point has been cleared up, so now everyone lets be friends. See Linda's new topic message, or my last one on here. Do not count the corsair that he replaces/displaces/zaps out of the universe or whatever, when adding up your points. So if you want a unit of 20 corsairs and 1 assasin, make a uni...

Had luck with both, but corsairs kick against elves that shoot. Like spears, tho but never go shieldless. They take charges well against S3 T3 troops and can usually win on the next turn. ie: goblins, orcs, humans etc. Hate them against dwarves, however better to use them than corsairs to a charge o...

I see what the problem is now: The rule in the summary was changed in the Annual, 2002. It now says in appendix 7 - special rules Fast Cavalry #3, "If a unit of fast cavalry rallies the turn after it voluntarily flees, it will be able to move normally during the Movement phase of that same turn." As...

Someone please tell where it says they 'automatically rally'. It says "chooses to flee as a charge reaction and subsequently rallies at the beginning of their next move, may reform..." I always took that to mean that if they passed a rally test then they could do that, otherwise they may flee if you...

Agreed with both of you. It makes sense that they could still attack the warriors normally. In the rules it says that they "must roll 6's to score hits in the first turn of close combat." But it makes more sense to me the way you both say. It did during the game as well. My opponent was actually arg...

Rule Question about Fear
Ok say my general on cold one is in a unit of warriors. Does an attacking unit need to make a fear test to charge the warriors? (I think so.) Next, a unit of cok charges a larger unit in the front which is in combat already against some warriors. They fail their panic. From now on even to attack the...

We have the sea dragon cloaks which is like heavy armour when you add up the numbers, plus are better against missiles. I am of two minds, I think druchii don't fit in with the heavy armour idea because they are supposed to be fast. However it seems like armour has no effect on initiative anyway, an...

If I use him, he works great against rnf troops. If I fight another character with him, though I like the idea of disrupting his magic items, I never try it. Prefer rather to try and kill the character outright. Otherwise Malekith usually dies. I justify it like this: If Malekith and dragon kill the...
