Gee Rork, are we disagreeing again ! It's so much fun! So you don't think that the Skeleton Heavy Cavalry are better than Cold One Knights? Sure, they lack the March, WS, the S for the rider and the mount, the I, and the armor, but then again, they are immune to psych and aren't stupid and only cos...

Tomb Kings - why doesn't this surprise me?
The basic Tomb Kings Skeleton soldier is pretty similar to the basic Dark Elf Warrior. They are both expensive and T3 (which is really all that counts in the shooting phase). Each has his own strengths, high I and WS for the DE, Unbreakable and Immune to Psych for the TK, but fundamentally, they ar...

We are trying to evaluate ourselves if these revisions are unbalanced and make the DEs too powerful before we submit to GW. Why not wait until the first draft before jumping to conclusions? Fair enough, but if they are targeted at an inherently biased audience, will the final draft be an accurate r...

Normally hatred is an emotion that affects troops in the first round only. We propose that black guard (the bitter gits that they are ) hate everyone and everything all the time! This fits well with the fluff and wouldn't be hard at all to implement! Not hard to implement...correct. Should it be do...

The great question
It doesn't matter they can still get S7. What does it matter how they get it? Anything more than S8 is not necessary. Since we can get S8, and if you look the highest S combo you can get is S7, it really doesn't matter. Vorchild and WoP are right. With all your suggested improvements, where are the...

Re: Some thought
I suppose Killing Blow is banned as well? For gods sake, the guantlet is an approved item, so if you go into a tourney, its there. Everywhere I play the guantlet is legal and no-one thinks its too powerful. I realise that I may face it in tournaments, but outside of that we have very strong opinion...

Re: Some thought
Really, well I'd rather have the guantlet, S8, 60 points, in my elf army. Its not a bad thing to do to an elf army because we can get it anyway already. Ahhh...the albion magic items. They were banned around here for being a bit broken (and a blatant rip-off of 40k equipment). As you already have m...

Re: Some thought
Read them carefully, those items are cheaper, they get a cheaper ward save for a price. However they also get ward saves with no price/penalty, for example the Von Carstein ring which is a 4+ ward and regeneration... But that is 100 pts (and limited to von carsteins) - that is the big downside of t...

Some thought
The Dark Heart (Alternative) – 45 points – grants wearer 4+ ward save. (I think this is a better choice than the 4+ against non magical attacks as most attacks than can actually threaten us are magical…) There are already too many armies with 4+ ward saves, and it seem...

The Blade of Dark Mastery - 65 points This fabled blade is a work of art from ancient Nagarythe and grants the bearer unequalled skill at arms, many a poweful druchii lord has taken up this blade to do battle with the lesser races. Bearer gains +1A, +1S, +1WS and +2I This needs to be a lot more exp...

One problem
Banner of Relentless Assault - 50 points – The unit carrying this banner exists at the edge of the ethereal plane. The unit carrying the banner has a 4+ Ward save against any non-magical missiles. Now this I have to disagree with. DE should not gain access to a banner that protects them f...

Actually the way I interpret the rules for autobreak Seraphon's idea works. I don't have the rulebook on hand, but I read the bit about autobreak the other day and it said that you must cause fear, win the combat, and that the unit strength of frendly troops must be greater then that of the enemy. ...

I was thinking about executioners further and came up with the following ideas, so Draichlord doesnt have a heart attack. 1. Give executioners killing blow on a 4+, but increase their points value to 15. That would be worth a lot more than 4 pts. Considering Tomb and Grave guard have killing blow o...

Re: Curiosity of the week
So COKs in a unit of 10 is a good idea, correct? 320 points in a single unit that can be blown by hand gunners? No, it is not a good idea. Even less so when they can stop moving once each three turns. As can every cavalry unit. A bigger unit makes them more resistant to panic checks, and can make f...

Chaos? Predictable?
Chaos are the worst race in the game. They're ugly. They're boringly predictable. They're powerful and cheap to collect. So people quite often start with them. And anyone who starts off playing them is basically ruined for playing anything else. They don't have to be entirely predictable. Magic and...

Uber craziness of the week award
1. b) The DE repeater crossbows (rxb) are too expensive at 6 points. We request a reduction in points cost for this item from 6 points to 5 points since, - The rxb, while being more effective at causing wounds to toughness 3 (T3) and low armour save troops, is nowhere near as effective as the handg...

Daemon steeds are not that good.
Now compare a Daemon steed which from memory is M8 WS 4, str 5, 3 wounds, attacks, ward save, cause fear, unbreakable and costs 50 pts. Steed of Slaanesh M10 ws4 S4 w3 A3 ward save, cause fear, unbreakale 40 pts. Hmm which would I prefer?? The cold one (which doesn't confer unbreakable, by the way)...

Re: Curiosity of the week
I don't mean giving them honours like HE, but some kind of special thing. HE have honours, Chaos has Marks, Skaven have Clans, Orcs can be Savage, Black, etc. If the individuality of the DE list consists of not having any thing like that. I am sure all DE players would prefer to lose that kind of i...

Re: Curiosity of the week
About playing on the edge - I can't think of a DE player who isn't playing on the edge just by playing DE, due to the "Elves problem". If you then add up the incoherencies of the list, like stupid special COKs and COCs, beastmasters that cannot add anything to the army or even follow the hydra in h...

Re: Curiosity of the week
Well, I was talking about cavalry charges.... Anyway, how is it that Inner Circle knights are not special but core? Besides, it is a 0-1 choice too. I suppose knights are reasonably common in the empire. And it's almost 0-2 in some cases, with the white wolves... You could compare then ICK to COKs,...
