Harpies don't have S4 on the charge, which makes a big difference against dwarfs. Rarely have I found that I've been able to wipe out a dwarf war machine with harpies, but then again, maybe my rolling just sucks. Still, having something fast that can negate ranks (and sometimes draw out an oathstone...

if 10 was too many i recon 5 might not be enough, perhaps one more, just to compensate for shooting casualties Exactly. 5 is the magic number at the end of the day, so you want to be sure that your opponent can't fire a bunch of bowmen at the unit and make it ineffective (or if you drop into combat...

Looks like 1500 pts to me. The list you have is a pretty good start, but could be tweaked. First off, there's very little reason to ever have 10 harpies. 6 should be more than enough. The hydra is a decent choice, but you might seriously consider 2 RBTs instead to give yourself a fire support base a...

Yes and yes, although its your to tweak as you like. Keep in mind though that 15 warriors are never going to be enough to take something on head on. They should be used defensively (in conjunction with the RXBmen) to either combine charge or flank, or to take something out that's been crippled by mi...

OK, here's a pretty decent list for you, although you are seriously restricting yourself in mount options. Noble on Chariot (spears) SoM, Seal, armoured up. Noble on Pegasus Lifetaker, blood armour, SDC Sorc, L2 Doomstick Sorc, L2 Cloak, scroll Dark Riders x 5 RXB, mus Dark Riders x 5 RXB, mus RXBme...

Its under page 9 in the interposing models section. All ranks (even the back) can fire at a large target or a unit that's on a hill (that part is in the hills and elevated positions section). Kind of sucks for the hill positions where you only get two ranks to fire down and everybody else gets all t...

Charges at Multiple Targets
A new rule for 7th that isn't exactly well explained in my view and I was wondering is someone could help me out here, both in determining the spirit of the rule as well as the strict wording allowances. The rule uses the wording "very close...together." The diagram that's used shows all t...

yeah that was my original point, that im not convinced you can beat VC with a dragon. also when you think about it ethereal units prettymuch have the same charge range as a dragon, 12 inches + van hels and they ignor all terrain and have 360, thats quite harsh. In the old edition you certainly coul...

1 unit 20 night runners 2 hand weapons Really? I have to admit, I've never seen anyone bother to do this before. In that army, the plague monks scare me a bit, but there's not much you can do about it with your army. As an interesting trick, you may want to consider the crystal of midnight. Makes o...

Personally, I don't bother with anvils. I look at the game like playing the piano - lots of small hammers working away together. Anybody shows me a distinct anvil and I just tend to ignore it and wipe out everything else instead. Its also not hard to mess up the coherency of a set of units like that...

for example when u get charged in the butt by some 30 strong zombie unit that will eliminate ur dragon for the rest of the game cos ur caddy cant stop all the spells. Doesn't matter what sort of equipment he's got - if that happens he going to be turfed for the rest of the game regardless. Only thi...

Yeah, if you're going for a pure beast theme, Rakarth is a pretty good buy. If you're wanting something generic, I like to go with defense about all else, myself. My favourite tends to be blood armour, lifetaker, and the heartstone (so he ends up very quickly with 1+ armour and 4+ ward) and give him...

List looks potent, but I don't think its going to be as mobile as you might think. If you want to go for the mobile missile platform army, there are better ways of doing it (and they generally involved magic over dragons). As Myki said, manbane on the hag will be exceptionally useful, or witch brew ...

Perhaps not as cheesy as 8 Cold One Chariots in a 2000pt force. Although that might not be a good tactical move. If it isn't cheesy to take a Prince on Star Dragon how is 4 RBT's cheesy? 8 chariots tends to work against you, more than for you. I've done it - its just a mess of stupidity checks and ...

Well, yeah, it is kind of cheesy, but its HE, so who cares? That being said, I rarely see a HE army these days that doesn't have a few of its own (the last few have all had 3). I'm not sure its necessary, though, but its up to you. A unit of 10 RXBmen has about the same effect on HE infantry and is ...

Since the charge would be considered a failed charge even without the fleeing charge reaction, do the DR still have to make the flee move? As Linda said, absolutely. This is where one of the most tactical pieces of the game comes into play - distance judgment - and where you separate the vets from ...

Looks good. A couple of notes though. I'm not sure you want to give the incubi any special weapons since they won't be able to use their punishers that way (as they are two handed weapons - and so are the special weapons). Instead of a terrorfex on the archon (although also cool) the best place to h...

If you think you need a retinue of incubi to get through power armour and the like, then sure, go for it. I find it tends to be a bit of overkill, myself. A unit of 5 incubi and an archon will chew up pretty much anything in the game fairly effectively. What I'd try first is simply attaching the arc...

But I would keep the scaling nets for sure (If you plan on doing any charging) How do the nets help with charging? All they do is let you pick up or drop off on the move. And they let guys hit the raider easier in CC (making grenades more effective, and a single guy with a power fist becomes a real...
