Arguably, against both lizards and some chaos armies you need to worry about shooting. In both cases you still need to worry about MMs which are just as good at getting rid of a pagasus. Seriously, you don't have a lizardmen opponent that has at least a few skinks with blowpipes to take down that pe...

Ignoring that you can't take two shields and the armour save isn't quite right... On a pegasus, its never so much the lord you have to worry about in terms of survivability, its the pegasus itself. So, normally what happens is some unit of crossbowmen/hundgunners, etc drop the pegasus in or around t...

And btw - stay till the end. There's a clip after the credits. More and more movies are doing this these days. I just found out today by chance that there is a scene at the end of X-men 3. At the theatre, I stay to the end of the credits anyways so I have no problem with it, but any time I'm watchi...

Any idea what I can do with the points saved on taking 2 units of dark riders rather than 5? The rest sounds great, I actually think that beefing up one of those L2 sorceresses to Level 4 would serve me well. I know that I lose 3 units of Dark Riders, but at this state I'm willing to sacrifiece the...

Rather have spearWars than corsairs. Apart from this, looks good (VERY controllish) but despite 2 COK units and Chariots I feel the list lacks power. Could be wrong tho. If the BSB goes down quickly (bunch of wizards with lore of metal would kill him pretty quick) then yeah, its going to be rough. ...

What you're pretty much looking for is a mobile missile platform. They work pretty well, all in all, but against certain armies they are doomed (most static armies for example). To that end, big units of shades are a bad idea as they are more difficult to scout and actually represent a decent target...

A low sports score will definitely cost dearly, so no can do. Something that has been brought to my attention though is that I really should expect a few daemon armies to be present. I looked over things again and the army did seem to be fairly daemon ready (well, not Tzeentch) but do you guys think...

Against CR armies such as O&G and Empire you'll be pretty much relying on that one-time Terror Test and panic tests from killing enough in the shooting phase. If that fails, its pretty much game over. Not completely, no. Combine charging with a unit of DR and one of the monsters should win a co...

Treemen have a 3+ AS - its pretty harsh. Beating it in combat is a decent way to do things, but it is stubborn after all on Ld8, so its not too horrible. I saw someone bring a treeman to a 500 pt game (equivalent to warbands) and he lost it to a unit of goblins who broke it and ran it down. On the o...

The only problem with witch elves is that they'll have a difficult time getting past the armour on the treeman (against dryads, they are pretty decent - but they'll likely get shot to pieces before they get there). For the hydra breath weapon, you'll never get past the toughness on the treeman, and ...

Well, that'll do it if you want a chance at wiping out the treeman, there's no doubt about that. That being said, you've locked yourself in tactically to sitting back and firing as your army can't do too much else. Perhaps the annoying thing will be that the wood elf player can still outshoot you in...

You're actually better off a lot of time putting the sorc with an RBT than with the warriors - not that it matters all that much. Your list is pretty one-dimensional, but it will work, there's little doubt there. There's a lot of overkill with the 4 RBTs and the two manticores and I think you can ba...

I would probably try to fit the Seal at least; and give one of the Dark Steed-mounted Nobles the Enchanted Shield. Also give your Pegasus-mounted Noble a Shield, just in case; it's only 2pts. The seal is in there. Normally, I'd add in the enchanted shield - still might - it can always work out well...

I've got a tournament coming up and I'm anticipating that there will be fairly minimal magic in attendance. 7 dice I'd expect to be the maximum. The scenarios are likely to favour horde armies. I've been debating back and forth between doing something funky (bringing out all the things that people d...

Stegadon can be annoying to have to take down as its pretty tough to say the least. At 1000 points, it'd be pretty mean to bring along a stegadon - ouch. With the list you've got, the only real way to do much damage is to win via combat res and run him down. Stubborn is nice, but Ld5 isn't. ;) The b...

I think that if you're aiming to have an army that's designed to beat high elves specifically that you've taken the wrong tack. Yes, you've identified strengths that will counter theirs, but you still have the fundamental problem that you're playing to their strengths. In other words, you're still a...

There are some truly sick things that you can do with guard. Some of which null and void the tyranid horde armies. Armoured battle groups come to mind. An army of 4 russes is just plain wrong. My IG army is the complete opposite and has only a horde of infantry. So much that the army at 1500 pts cov...

It wouldn't be too hard to put two small bases together (for a 20x40 base rather than the 25 x 50 cav base) which would help, and I'm sure there's a way to make the guy look less bulky compared to the infantry. It wouldn't be too hard... but against the rules unfortunately. It may be against the ru...

in a unit or exes with armor of darkness for a base 2+ save and heartseeker to reroll misses. See, this is what I really don't get. Why would you equip him that way in the new rules in a unit like that? First of all, even including the addition of the steed, you can get the same AS cheaper (HE, SDC...

I like my nobles on dark steeds with just mundane equipment and a lance as the weapon of choice. Keeps them cheap and still extremely effective with very good saves. In general I prefer the Hunter Noble, just a Dark Steed, Heavy Armour, Seedragon Cloak, Lance and shield (perhaps for some more points...

You can't out shoot them. You can't out magic them. You can so out shoot them. It involves bringing along a cheesy City Guard list, but it can be done. ;) See how your dwarf opponent reacts when you bring out 8 RBTs and a whack of repeater crossbows (and nothing else). It can be a good wa...

I have found it is difficult to use Dark Riders to hunt their warmachines as they often deploy them in the middle of their warriors where you can't get to them. Then you have two opportunities. If they are flush, charge all three units and hope for some kills on the crew (or get really lucky and wi...
