There have been pics of White Dwarf pages posted.

Also, the rules are apparently going to be included in the boxes with the models.

Re: Can a sorceress go with shades?

Also note that if you were to put her in the unit at the start of the game, the Shades cannot use their Scout move. Tactically, I would say no for basically the same reason Calisson stated. The unit is already a target for magic missiles etc and putting her in the unit will make them subject to gre...

Re: Soul Stealer and Spiteful Conjuration

Direct damage spells target enemy units, even if they use a template (see p31 of the BRB). This is the important point. You need to declare a target for the spell before casting. In fact, the placement of the template technically doesn't even happen until the spell is successfully cast, while nomin...

Re: My Naggarond army WIP

Love the color scheme and well executed. Looks like you are using true metallic paint with some purple ink? Can't quite tell but really cool effect. What are you going to do for the bases? My only point of criticism is I think the blue should be highlighted up to a lighter shade on the plumes and ba...

Re: Thoughts on Swedish Comp

I think our point of disagreement is that I don't think that the magic rules as written are particularly imbalancing. Pretty much every army out there is going to be vulnerable on some levels to big spells. Ogres don't like Purple Sun. Elves don't like Dwellers Below. These big spells introduce an e...

Re: Thoughts on Swedish Comp

First and foremost: OK are designed with a "deathstar" in mind... If you cant fill the front rank of your unit with characters, the ogres will die in droves since they literally dont know what armor is. So yeah okay, dont play a gutstar, and then lose every time you meet a combat army. I ...

Re: Thoughts on Swedish Comp

Comp systems do more than just boosting or hindering some units. In addition, they for example: *snip* This is not a "comp system." The term "comp" is an abbreviation of composition and refers to the practice of placing restrictions on the composition of an army. For the sake of...

Re: Thoughts on Swedish Comp

And yes. You need a 100 point score difference to "win". But I actually like the 20-0 system tournaments use, because the "get 100 vp more and you win" type of situations encourage 'boring' play (dont get me wrong here). Fill your list entirely with fast cav, pick up two of the ...

Fighting an army full of Slaanesh stuff.

Ok, maybe not worthless, but they become much less valuable without their ward save.

Re: Thoughts on Swedish Comp

Did you know you only need to beat your opponent by 100 points to win? Some armies just don't win big, but often don't also lose big. The 20-0 scoring most tournaments use means thkse armies are highly unlikely to win... comp or no comp. I think that if tournaments stuck with the normal Warhammer v...

The Bretonnian Pegasus Knights are one of the few Bret items still available on the GW website. And they are really good for this purpose--Cold One Knight legs fit the saddle perfectly.

Re: I have made a terrible mistake.

Of course, some would move off those two axis altogether by arguing that the best job is the one that makes you the most amount of money. That is possibly true, but I wouldn't recommend it. I would not go that far, but money does need to be a consideration. If you are doing something you are happy ...

Re: I have made a terrible mistake.

Passion doesn't pay the bills. I might have a passion for playing the nose flute, but no matter how good I get, I'm going to have trouble getting paid to do it. Other people have a passion for something that could be lucrative but don't have the talent or ability to make it. You need to be realistic...

Re: 2400 points for National Finals

Dont you think you are losing some of the utility of the Warlocks by having Cold ones in them? I understand what you are trying to do, but it just seems like a waste to me. It's better and cheaper to use warlocks than Cold One Knights for this kind of build. Yes, you lose the fast cav ability, but ...

Re: Better than Swedish???

1) Good point about the Dwarfs. I would say they don't count as wizards and that should be specified. 2) I thought about singling out Wild Riders. But I decided not to since they are Fast Cavalry, and so they can contribute to a penalty for having lots more than 2 flying/fast cav units in the same a...

Re: Better than Swedish???

-HE bolt throwers are rare choices and count as one full war machine. DE version is special, is cost/function identical, and evidently counts as 1/2? -Even the reduced comp on the TK chariots seems excessive. I've seen very few chariot based TK lists in 8th, and they struggled in a soft environment...

Better than Swedish???

So I've been stuck at home today since my wife is working and somebody needs to watch the 8-year old. Frenzy isn't that big of a deal if you keep general and/or BSB near them.

1+ armor save though ... definitely need to avoid that
