@ hyetemplar Let's take 3 level-2 sorc, that have 8 die together. Without PoD, they cast 24 2-die spells in a game (assuming they survived...), each with 1/36 chance of miscast. Less than once a game. With 3 2-die PoD cast each turn, they gain 14 more die in the full game... Assuming all of these ad...

Reading this thread, I found many incomplete maths about the new Power of Darkness "O level" spell, leading to hasty conclusions. Lets examine how many die you gained after 36 PoD casts, casting 1 or 2 die. Cast................1 dice.....2 die miscast.............0/36......1/36 (actually l...

In my mind and in my posts, RoR and DoW have exactly the same rules.
Only the fluff changes.

I tried to give a guess on future plans on a recent thread : "GW plans to stop availability of DoW for non-DoW armies" (found under "Druchii army list" forum) See http://www.druchii.net/viewtopic.php?t=54954&highlight= Basically, I believe that Manflayers will be authorized a...

Many dies are needed for WH and WH40K. A combination of different colours are very useful, as often some of the rolls need to reach different values: red dies for the knights, white dies for the cold ones ; or black dies for one attack per each knight, three brown dies for the Lord. Very small dies ...

The figure to take into account is the AUTHORIZED limit, not the actual total. If you plan for a 2000 battle, then you can take a Lord, event if your final total is 1950 pts. On the other hand, if you plan for a battle with a 1999 limit, that means that no Lord is authorized. In every case, you are ...

All what I said applies to RoR as well as DoW. Giants are the only exception mentioned in what I read. From what I read, - they are very cautious to let all options open, - but they (who are really "they"?) clearly consider to remove DoW as a legal entry for non-DoW armies (except giants)....

In the French GW website one, there is an insight about the future of DoW availability for non-DoW armies, found in a document providing clarifications for tournaments. The French document, dated 04/04/2008, is found there: http://fr.games-workshop.com/telechargement/warhammer/jeu/Conventions_wh_04-...

Agree. Nothing beats the real BB. Trouble is that they no longer sell individual minis but rather full team boxes so it becomes difficult to tune up your team. By the way, the computer game will let us play either in normal gaming (i.e. 4 minutes each player in alternance) or in real time mode, just...

Only while they are under the stupidity effect are they immune to other effects.
If they pass successfully the stupidity test, then they have to abide by whatever other psychology rule requested.

@Linda Lobsta Defenda, @Thanee, I don't contradict, see below. @SilverHeimdall, @Rork, you are right with DoW rules, see below. Let me clarify:  The present official rules are clear in French, English and Italian official GW websites (I did not check with other languages): mercenaries are fou...

No other countries have published the equivalent rules clarifications for tournaments? I can't believe it. It is full of useful informations for (or against) people trying to exploit the rules to their limits. I doubt the the official site in French released such clarifications without being approve...

I cannot find the equivalent in the UK GW website, but in the French one, there is an answer: http://fr.games-workshop.com/telechargement/warhammer/jeu/Conventions_wh_04-04-08.pdf (go to page 11, under Mercenary section). For those who dont speak French, I translate for you below (with no dictionary...

Thanks for the effort. But... As a newb and non-English native speaker (hence lacking a rulebook written in English), I don't understand in your chart the meaning of MB.
