Re: Un-Welcome to the Age of Sigmar
And yet GW are ramping up the number of computer games set in a now-dead world. We've got Mordheim, Man o' War (Wait, what?), Blood Bowl and obviously WH Total War coming. All of them could recruit players into the WH world...and yet that's gone. I could almost understand if they'd gone for some big...

Re: First AoS Tournament in the UK?
I think that it will interesting to see what becomes the "standard" for tournament play. At this stage we're going to see a few competing army selection mechanics...and maybe even a few will co-exist. And there's laziness. Copy and paste may win out for smaller events with busy organisers...

Re: Un-Welcome to the Age of Sigmar
They want 33$ US dollars for 2 censer bearers, see here: http://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Pestilens-Plague-Censer-Bearers I wonder just how expensive they think they can make their stuff. Yeah, I saw them for £20 here and choked at the price. Hell, I converted my own a few years back because I w...

Re: Un-Welcome to the Age of Sigmar
- For us with a scientist background, it is not enough to have a feeling for a theory (such as "AoS sucks"), we need to get proofs; and even if it easy to prove that it sucks to play AoS in the same way we used to play WH8, it is much harder to prove that it sucks to play AoS in any possi...

Re: Square vs Round and weapon range
Of course, the real solution in AoS is to get big metal sheets and just put magnets on the feet of all your models. That way you can get maximum densities pretty easily.
It wouldn't really be that expensive, either...

Re: ETC Openhammer
Looks like a massive nostalgia-fest in many respects (I see rules from 4th-6th in there). Removing the chance from Look out, sir! seems a little odd - An effective 2+ ward vs templates meant it wasn't worth sniping most of the time (And they're telling me it would "never" happen?). Removin...

I definitely agree with him on the rules - they're a good start, but definitely need something more to keep people interested beyond a scrap in the middle of the table.

Re: My thoughts on Age of Sigmar
There are a lot of good ideas in the rules and units...but for me the main problem is that the game just turns into a massive meat grinder (Not that I'm averse to such things ) in the middle of the table. AoS has its balancing factors, but it lacks a proper strategy that can be exploited (Y'know, li...

I'll certainly be giving it a read when the rules are released.
Right now I'm mainly playing Warmachine, which is a pretty good change from the vast armies of Warhammer.

Re: Pick your Space, sorry Sig Marine chapter now.
I'm not the first one to say this, but it is pretty obvious they feel they need a 'good guy' faction that is easily recognizable and that can draw in younger players. Space Marines do that for 40K and I assume they are betting the 'Sigmarites' will do that for AoS. There really wasn't a dominant 'g...

More seriously, I think of these "Substitute Warscrolls" will get fleshed out and replaced with an actual scroll of their own. Think of this as the beta or the "Ravening Hordes" if you remember those days. I don't think we're going to see many like for like replacements beyond s...

Re: Welcome to the Age of Sigmar
Right now I'm looking at the rule sets that have been released for the old factions and I get a single strong impression; All will be phased out. Once the new range has been released (unified Aelf, Duardin, Seraphon), they'll stop publicising these rules and the models will be discontinued. It seem...
