If you replace "result" with "top face" you have a completely different rule

The rule for both models talks about "result" and Kairos can change any "result" to any other "result". There are no restrictions in place.

The point is, only a general can use their command ability, it is useless for all non-general characters. if your general is on their last wound, and in danger, it is often more beneficial to usurp their power with a healthier master, who will take over their command ability (as well as retain their...

Yeah, these rules are definitely superior to Kings of War.

I'm sorry The Mattler, but you are dead wrong. There is nothing cerebral or tactical about "one upping" your opponent by countering his every deployment. All you need to do is put down a similar (or better, the same) unit at 132% the number of models so you never reach the magical 33% sudd...

Shooting is king. Simple, hitting takes no modifiers, wounding doesn't care what the target is, close combat has limited range. Put down a line of crossbows, supported by reapers, a wizard or two and a general to lead your force. Maybe a shock unit to countercharge. Then have a boring "game"

If you're enjoying AoS, great for you.

Now try to play at least semi-competitively, face Screaming Bell and Kairos or a single scarab swarm and insta lose with no chance to win.

This is not a game.

Thankfully it's more than just 3 results ;)
It's 2 + misfire and
misfire + 2
misfire + 4
misfire + 6
misfire + 8
misfire + 10
misfire + misfire

Thanks to the fact that first misfire stops the second roll from happening. (short of rerolls etc.)

Forcing characters to fight in assaults would already solve most of the problems. Most building deathstars are filled with rather fragile characters. The above described unit would have to place. BSB 3 wizards Alarielle Teclis lvl 4 death mage and 3 archers into assault parties. How long do you thin...

Main issue with the tower is the building rules. After every round of combat the assaulting unit would get pushed back just go get peppered by more arrows while the defending unit is steadfast on Ld10 with re-roll and never have to select their vital characters to for assault parties. There simply i...

Monstrous arcanum monsters tend to be used as scrolls of binding monsters. Which means unless otherwise specified, they come out of special allowance.

Bell/Furnace on round... but Thanquol, Verminlords and Rat Orges on square?

Deceiver is the bomb. skitterleap across the board away from potential danger, then crack's call along an artillery line. He's now safe from anything that can kill him fast. His stars will shred hordes real fast and slaves will bog down elites. Kind of sad i sold my skaven now... but i still wouldn'...

For only one point more you gain Stubborn, 2 points higher save vs shooting, Forest Strider (of questionable usefulness) and access to a fantastic magic banner. You lose KB and a point of Ld. To me, Stubborn otweighs the point of Ld, KB and Forest Strider are both kind of sameish (useless most of th...

Current changes with the ET:K all but invalidate my work (what a shame...) but as a quick thought: ET:K magic makes Lore of Undeath useful for wizards other than Nagash/Mortarchs thanks to the ability to spam spells and increased power dice pool (as well as access to all spells regardless of level) ...

Nope, you can have 3 units of Sisters, they're a special choice. 100% fast cavalry force is now perfectly viable and looks something like this: Dark/Glade/Ellyrian - core with various roles (they're different enough to warrant it) Sisters/Warhawks/Wild - special with various roles Warlocks - rare Sp...

End Times magic pretty much makes Doomfire Warlocks and Sisters of the Thorn the best wizards in game on a point per effectiveness scale. Warlocks can PoD themselves to incredible strength at little to no loss of PD (as long as the PD allowance is rolled high enough) Sisters can do the same with Wys...

I've been away from the game for the past couple weeks due to personal reasons but I have an open game for "whenever I can" using full end times rules scheduled. I expect it's going to be a blast (literally, with spells flying all over the place) and a reasonable back and forth. Yes it doe...

Scroll caddy is handy but not a must with khaine magic. feedback scroll or that one that gives you extra dd are far more valuable. Hex scroll too. Dispel scroll is of course handy but really only to stop the spells that can't be recast. I'm thinking my end times lists will have at least 3 wizards ju...

As long as Elves are lead by a warhammer version of Darth Vader i will keep playing ^.^

I find allies rules to be great, a way to start a new army one unit at a time. It's a shame they are not more widely recognized (8th ed already has fully functional allies rules after all)
