VC has the best support units in the game, and shooting really isn't that effective against skirmishers and possibly in cover too. 5 dark riders charging a unit of 6 ghouls is no way a sure win! A noble on dark steed or pegasus will also go down to ghouls because of their fear and toughness. Noble ...

OK, so there's nothing too too sick about that list. Personally, I think 3 fell bats aren't going to do all that much and can be eliminated quickly by DR. Similarly, the wolves can be eliminated by RXB fire and for time they have remaining, the RBTs if you have any can pick off a few knights, making...

I think vorchild is highly underestimating the use of a necro bunker (without a thrall as far as I'm concerned) by assuming he will be able to get to its flank with anything but a flying unit (which will be defeated by CR if the VC player starts raising the zombo unit), as well as underestimating t...

Stacked infantry you say? Personally, I think that's incredibly to your advantage - means he's got almost 400 pts of unit (if he starts them out large) guarding a 100 pts magic user who can't use any magic missiles (which seriously hurt - more than another unit of zombies someplace). And they're goi...

Necros are comparatively easy to kill if you hit the unit and allocate as many attacks as possible to the necromancer. With no champion you cannot be challenged and you can usually get three figures in contact. I solved this problem recently woth a Noble on a DP, but three DR might do the job too. ...

Well, with regards to the 4 chariots, I broke it down into a numbers game actually. If I have 4, I can break them up into two groups of two and thus in order to make the combination useless, you need to fail both stupidity checks. Odds of that are 8% (a bit less - its almost a 1/4 chance to fail on ...

1500 Point Tournament Lists
I got a bunch of flak on my home site about using these one of these lists in a local tournament. Thought I'd put them by you guys to see what you thought. Added a couple ideas and tweaked a few things though. Balanced Themed Sorcerss L2, cloak and scroll Sorceress L2 on steed, wand 5 Dark riders, R...

Re: Dark Elf Many small Units list 2000pts (second try)
Lord: Highborn, heavy armor, darksteed, halberd, seal of ghrond, sea dragon cloak 189pts I'm not personally all that fond of highborns on steeds. I like them better on monsters or chariots or something else entire (not on foot either). When I want a general on a steed, I go for the much cheaper nob...

I'm not sure I'd call it speedy, exactly, but its fairly good I think. Personally, at this points level, I always favour harpies over shades, but either one as useful. I'm not the biggest fan of th spearmen though. I'd seriousy consider another unit of RXBmen (shields on both units) instead and with...

Well, speaking of that idea, that's actually part of what I'm doing. The wheel bit. But I'm not using it as a wheel all on its own, I'm adding it to a wheel from a 40K set so it looks bigger. Balsa's a good idea, but I find it pretty flimsy and prefer the GW plastic if I can get it (easier to work w...

What do you mean cheesy. I had no magic users in my last league army and the League Army I'm testing has none either. IIt's intended to fight all-comers. I must use my 3DD VERy carefully. If its what you always do, then no, of course its not cheesy, but if you're known like many people are to take ...

Its one of those things that can be played either way I think but which is truly designed to actually be the case - which is why you test first with a unit that doesn't run the risk of running into a unit that could potentially rally. Something that sort of punishes not thinking ahead I guess. If yo...

We have a fair stock of terrain and some sculpted tables that have terrain specifically designed for them, but all in all, terrain is generally done on a consensus basis which generally means for a standard balanced game there's almost always a couple forests, a couple hills and a couple obstacles s...

Taking none is kind of cheesy if you ask me - its specifically tailoring your list to beat up on a specific opponent. Well, maybe not cheesy, but certainly not sporting. I find that the most optimal way to do things would be to use 2 L2s and give one the cloak and the other the wand to give you 7 di...

The issue stems from the fact that they're expensive and easy to eliminate with magic and shooting. If you're going up against an army that is either weak in those departments or you feel confident that you are able to counter those elements, then yeah, black guard would be excellent. Truly, I can't...

Re: Wild ideas and viability
First, hiding not one, but two assassins. Say in a 2500-3000 game, take a high sorceress, add a level 2 or a noble, then hide two assassins, one in the executers (classical choice), the other with the witch elves, or somewhere else. I think the psychological effect alone is worth it. Who would want...

A Noble on a cold one is more resiliant than a Noble on a steed they are quite effective in killing other heros or small (preferably goblin) light cav units (after picking a few off with lifetaker).. works just fine Well, do keep in mind the cost differences between the two options as well as the r...

Dark steed mounted nobles are both pretty easy to make (take a COK and slap him on a dark steed and BAM, noble on dark steed - add cloaks are required ) and are one of the best configurations for heroes in our army. I mean, give him a lance and the attacks are S6 and give him a shield and cloak and ...

Well, the solution I think I'm going to run with is going to involve a bunch of bits from the city fight box set - mainly the panels and walls and the like. It makes the things look truly bulky (which is good from a chaos chariot point of view) though it might actually be overdone a little bit. I'm ...

Chaos Non-Chaos Chariots?
I've been trying to pick up a bunch of chaos chariot models and its proving more difficult than I thought (since I'm cheap and don't want to pay full price ) so I'm trying to find ways to either convert them or find alternate chariots which can work. Does anyone have any ideas? I was thinking that I...

I want to expand on my Chaos army and here's what I need to do it: 20 of the new chaos warriors (I like the look better) with two sets of command models 20 halberds for said warriors (as I understand, you can't get these guys with halberds, so I have to do some conversion work) 5 Chaos knights 4 cha...

You'll have to find someplace in some FAQ where is actually says that the attacks count as flaming attacks to gain that ability, regardless of the fact that they are indeed spitting fire. It doesn't mention it in the army book though, so if that's the only source people can come up with, you're SOL.
