Re: Executioners v White Lions

For only one point more you gain Stubborn, 2 points higher save vs shooting, Forest Strider (of questionable usefulness) and access to a fantastic magic banner. You lose KB and a point of Ld. To me, Stubborn otweighs the point of Ld, KB and Forest Strider are both kind of sameish (useless most of th...

Re: The School of the Arcane - Know your enemy

Current changes with the ET:K all but invalidate my work (what a shame...) but as a quick thought: ET:K magic makes Lore of Undeath useful for wizards other than Nagash/Mortarchs thanks to the ability to spam spells and increased power dice pool (as well as access to all spells regardless of level) ...

Re: Warlocks and End times magic

Nope, you can have 3 units of Sisters, they're a special choice. 100% fast cavalry force is now perfectly viable and looks something like this: Dark/Glade/Ellyrian - core with various roles (they're different enough to warrant it) Sisters/Warhawks/Wild - special with various roles Warlocks - rare Sp...

Re: Warlocks and End times magic

End Times magic pretty much makes Doomfire Warlocks and Sisters of the Thorn the best wizards in game on a point per effectiveness scale. Warlocks can PoD themselves to incredible strength at little to no loss of PD (as long as the PD allowance is rolled high enough) Sisters can do the same with Wys...

You lose horse attacks. Horse attacks are priceless.

But cubes of stubborn black guard can be pretty handy.

Re: Return of the Sacrificial Dagger

I've been away from the game for the past couple weeks due to personal reasons but I have an open game for "whenever I can" using full end times rules scheduled. I expect it's going to be a blast (literally, with spells flying all over the place) and a reasonable back and forth. Yes it doe...

Re: Return of the Sacrificial Dagger

Scroll caddy is handy but not a must with khaine magic. feedback scroll or that one that gives you extra dd are far more valuable. Hex scroll too. Dispel scroll is of course handy but really only to stop the spells that can't be recast. I'm thinking my end times lists will have at least 3 wizards ju...

Re: GW is going to retcon everything! (Spoilers)

As long as Elves are lead by a warhammer version of Darth Vader i will keep playing ^.^

I find allies rules to be great, a way to start a new army one unit at a time. It's a shame they are not more widely recognized (8th ed already has fully functional allies rules after all)

Re: Hellebron - Am I doing it right?

Exactly. Only 5++ and no other protection, coupled with a really large base of the CoB, make her a prime target.

Of course if you're not facing cannons it's a non-issue.

Re: Hellebron - Am I doing it right?

Absolutely.

Keep in mind she only gets the bonus for two weapons because they are a "Paired Weapon". Non-magical two hand weapons don't grant the extra attack while mounted.

That said, Hellebron on a cauldron is a fluffy but rather poor choice.

GW is going to retcon everything! (Spoilers)

And that's an educated guess I suppose. I've been thinking about the last page of the ET:Khaine storybook, where Araloth steps through Lileath's portal into the new "haven" world. Ereth Khial (Eldira) is already there, whipping it into shape and apparently a child of Araloth and Lileath. M...

Most damage my medusa ever did was charging, breaking and running down 3 Skullcrushers... or would charging, breaking and running down 10 Inner Circle knights be worth more?

Still waiting for mine, but I know at least a handful of members of Druchii.net have theirs.

This box will put me at 45 witches + 4 model witch filler so easily a cauldron horde and a couple tire strips.

Re: Magic Items for Khaine

If you want to take it that way, then explain how ET armies can take *any* magic items. ET books are not Warhammer Armies books. Magic items section of the BRB only ever refers to Warhammer Armies books and models selected from Warhammer Armies' books having access to them. So I guess: ET = we ran o...

I don't think so. Yes it's an amazing army but so are chaos and undead legion (though chaos got the short stick on overpowered SC end). Empire can definiteky compete, even without KFC due to cheapish mages and cannons. What is the Dark Elf army weakness? Lack of handling 1+ armors saves. Some wood ...

I'm thinking either White Lions or Swordmasters pushing the Cauldron of Blood with witchbrew death hag (most likely White Lions for the Stubborn). Joined by a level 1 or 2 high wizard. Army lead by a level 4 Shadow Wizard (or Malekith) because holy crap Shadow Bridge is a game winner spell. If not M...

As Shadow Incarnate Malekith most likely can create copies of himself Dr. Manhattan style.

Besides, what good designer would design armor fused to the skin and not leave a removable codpiece?

While terror seems fluffy, at no point in the book you see people running from Tyrion. If anythibg the presence of the blade whips everyone into unthinking frenzy with no regard for basic instincts like survival.

If you dont want to go the dual horde route with a secobdary horde of witch elves, then small units of witch elves protecting execs from easy to kill but numerous units will do perfect.

And before anyone complains that the Druchii abandoned their ways after coming to Athel Loren.

There's a tidbit that while Malekith forbade violence against denizens of the forest, Druchii are happily raiding Bretonnia.
