Trojan Horse Army

Post by Com_azreal »

This is my new Beast of Chaos Army led by Khazrak the One Eye. The entire army ambushes except for my massive chariot conversion making a very imposing Trojan Horse. The obvious historical trap is intended to both humour and unsettled any opponent, as having nothing deploy except a massive Trojan Horse is confusing to say the least. Add that to 200 models showing up right behind you on the following turn, and you have a great list in the making.

I've had a few test games as I managed to finish the Trojan Horse, and I found that while the idea behind it is good, the list lacked punch, containing only core models that could ambush, being just basic Gors, Ungors and Warhounds. I added a Battle Standard Bearer with Banner of The Gods, which makes all units within 6" stubborn, allowing even Beastmen to hold their ground and grind in units. The large number of units, mostly stubborn, will surround larger units and grind them up, with their numbers and relatively good stats allowing for a swift defeat and multiple pursue moves. I also decided to add in more cheap Warhounds, and so I double the previous 30. While they don't often show up where I want them to, the sheer number of them means that some will go where I want, or at least scatter so hopelessly all over that they can contest table quarters.

Previous Post:

I've almost finsihed my massive trojan horse and plan to use it in my Beasts of Chaos army as a chariot.

I will be using Khazarak, and the only unit that doesn't ambush will be my Trojan Horse. I'm sure this will baffle my opponent, and most people will not no how to react to this obvious trap. I'm sure only deploying this one unit will be very confusing. I'm sure the look on each opponent;'s face will be reason enough to use this army.

I'll get pictures up as soon as I finish, but so far, at least to me anyway, it looks stunningly accurate to the one in the movie Troy (2004)

Well, he said it was a chariot. It could represent their intuitive speed like a horse, sort of like a totem of sorts. The beast lord pushes the totem in the middle of the enemy, then exhorts "Look! They have our sacred totem! Kill them all!" <amused look>
"Khaine only embraces death, while the Cult of Pleasure embraces life and all of its aspects. I often wonder how people have trouble choosing between the two."

This sounds hilarious:D

I've played against Khazraks army once. My enemy deployed 1 unit and said: now deploy your army. That by itself is enough to make me confused. Now to add a trojan horse... wow.

You don't happen to own a digicam, do you? ;)

Well if most of the unit arrive where I want them to, I will easily be able to burst forth from all directions and surround units.

The sheer novelty of the Trojan Horse should make my opponent stumble confused for the one turn needed before I srping my whole army.

Besides, this army is potentially undefeatable, as all I have to do is never reveal my army until the last turn, then jump out and contest table quarters.

Khazarak can sound the horn while being deployed as an ambusher.

Morph, I would only do that against WAAC lists.

I can test it as early as tommorow, as I hate using unpainted models, and I'm almost done my Torjan Horse. I also converted a Khazarak because the GW model looks... subpar.

Why haven't you built a wooden rabbit?

"Well, now, Lancelot, Galahad and I, leap OUT OF the rabbit, to catch our enemies off guard, and what's more, unarmed!..."

Maybe I should make another chariot, making it a giant rabbit?

And I personally would not want to play that army ever. That is almost as bad as the whole "I have payed points to make my whole army invisible. Deploy yours if you want".

I shouldn't say this until I get a camera, but that rabbit doesn't look so good. I'm almost positive I could do better with a cardboard box and some crayons.

This army is far from invincible. If you think so, then I've achieved part of my goal.

Read: InVISIBLE. Not InVINCIBLE.

My mistake. But what use is an invisible army if I come on a turn late in random places and can;t charge or move that turn?

lol. Its a standing joke with most gamers (or so I thought) where you put your feet up on a desk/table, lok at your opponent, and say, "Ok, my army is deployed.". When they inquire into what you have been smoking lately, you say that you payed the extra points to make your army invisible. :D

Now, I am sure, if you tried the last turn thing, your friends would sack you/beat you, others would stop playing you, and you would only be able to do it once before no one would talk to you for being such a wimp (not able to hold your own against their army, you have to find loopholes.

i do have one question: how will it win differnt senerios than Pitched Battle? And What about ranbdom turn length, where you don't know if you are poping out on the last turn?
