Who are the contenders .... ?

Folks,

When the subject of individual characters marauding in HtH comes up
in your gaming group, do you find that it is a commonly held opinion that the most effective Lords in close combat are Blood Dragon Vampires and Chaos Lords ?

Just interested to learn if these opinions are universal.

Please don't suggest Special Characters such as Tyrion or Archaon.

Yep, Blood Dragon Vampire Lords and Lords of Chaos seem to be the biggest contenders for the ultimate close combat monster, as well as Strigoi Vampire Lords and Dwarf Lords!

Dark Elf Highborns, High Elf Princes, Black Orc Big Bosses, Von Carstein Vampire Lords and Tomb Kings also rank quite high, I suppose.

dark elf highborns im really suprised at, i s'pose it's only the normalstup: GoP, CoBI, HA, SDC, S theres no other choices really

Yes, the Gauntlet of Power is the main reason, that Highborns can compete up there!

Well our reigning Arena of Death champ is a Blood Dragon (not mine) who's only been beaten once, when he killing blowed a Tomb King in the first turn and then failed his Leadership check...

Chaos Lords are nothing special though... A Dwarf Lord could kick them unless they have a Chaos Runeshield

My Chaos Lord beats anything.

He has:
Mark of Undivided
Greatweapon
Helm of Many Eyes
Gaze of Gods
Magic Armor (the one that makes your opponent re-roll all successful "to hit" rolls)
Barded Chaos Steed

He has beaten my friend's Blood Dragon Lord and Strigoi lords everytime. Blood Dragon Lord has been close though.
