The a dark elf assasin thing seems fun and they probly have great retirement benefits.
I don't ever see an assasin retiring and sitting in front of a fire with a pipe and slippers.
I think I'd like to be a great eagle, quite independent, can fly all over the place, and not threatening enough to be attacked and have to put up with the grief of dwarf slayers turning up every other week.
Don't hate the player, hate the game.

Yeah but you always get used as charge bait, or as a roadblock or redirector. All cases result in a rather ungratuitious death.
While running a million dollar company, singing at weddings, and his frequent jetting to Spain Elton Jon style, Dark Alliance found the time to stand on the doorstep of Games Workshop like Moses and the Pharoah and calmly state, "Let my people go."

As a great man once said Son don't bring your guns to town. I could imagine the mother Giant eagle sons daughters don't fly near those towns. The disobediant one does and he gets to his first battle and gets killed his last thoughts son don't go to that town.
I Imagine the retirement benefits of the Assassin though is being killed by the better assassin and hopefully it will be quick.
But Ogre Butchers they make all the ogre food and kill stuff and only thing they have to worry about is guys with great weapons with str 4 and cannon balls otherwise they are cool. Ohh yea and the occasional dragon but I am pretty sure you add a little cyan pepper and that goes down smoothly.

you really think dark elf assassins let you die quickly? what a stupid idea
The only time you need to worry is when you see a snotling with a monacle and goatee. Then; you run.

I said hopefully it would be quick. I mean I really don't think Dark Elf Assassins are James Bond Like Villains
"Now see here James this blade is going to run across your thorax but the poison on it keeps you alive while I start to disect you and with only ropes holding you down I am going to leave you with my idiot apprentice while I plan for whats next in this menagerie of torture."

Redirecting I can cope with, hmmm maybe I should consider being something bigger but still not completely threatening (I'm tall but not actually that imposing).

I think he counts as threatening - we all know he can kill an army with a few clicks of his fingers.

Well I guess that depends on whether its the Warhammer world or the Warhammer Fantasy Battles.
If it was the world overall I most likely would get myself into some sort of low level political position in a city or perhaps some kind of guild. Most likely a little military experience defending the local area from Orcs or something but not a life in the military.
If we are talking fantasy battles then most likely an Empire Mage of some sort or perhaps a Skink Messenger.

oddly enough i was thinking about this last night, and knowing my self i would have to say a necromancer.
being born a human with in say the empire or bretonia (geting to choose to be an elf or chaos lord is a cop out id rather work my way to power, getting there is half the fun) i would want to have power, and an eternity to use it. for a human to achieve such goals there are two options. whorship chaos and hope your lucky enough to achieve demon hood ( no way would i leave my self at the mercy of something as fickle as chaos) or the path of the necromancer. with necromancy not only do i get power, and eternal life i get to raise my own army as well ( who needs friends when you can have minions?)

Hmmm. As much as I would love to be something Elvish, it wouldn't suit me personally. Most likely I'd be some kind of Pirate Captain, like in the Fell Cargo book if any of you read it. I love boats, specifically any one with a sail. And the "answer to no one but myself" is quite appealing, along with raiding ships and hiring myself out as a privateer.
For something actually in one of the army lists... I'd be a Mercenary General or Captain in Tilea.

Perhaps a skeleton warrior from Khemri. I could shuffle forward and then die...then get up again later...then die...then get up after...but then die again...
Or a back ranker goblin in a unit of 40. You have to kill 32 to get to me, ha! Then I could bodybuild to become the big boss...yep, I think a goblin sounds pretty cool...!

I'd be a Cold One with LD10. Heh, just cos' I'm lazy, and would rather smell random things on the ground than work.
No, seriously it's between one of two things.. a War Hydra because terrorizing people is fun, and I like to belch vile substances on random people, or an Assassin that scouts.. and might attack something, or sleep in the bush.
