Arming Your Vampire Count's Skeletons
All things being considered, what do you find to be the best way to arm your Vampire Count Army Skeletons and why?
I am vascillating between HW + Shield or Spears
Light Armor makes them too expensive in my opinion, but if you disagree please explain why.
Thanks again.

True, but I am thinking that the 1 extra point for spears might be worth taking. It almost doubles their offensive capability, and only slightly reduces their durability.
Its also only 1 point more.
And they definately look cooler with spears.
Hmmm...I have them all sitting here waiting to be equipped and I don't know what to do...

I just saw that Hellish Vigor also allows rerolls of misses in combat.
I'm almost definately going spears now.
Light Armor is a waste though if you ask me. I'm surprised so many have voted for it.

I know it's expensive but the thing you need to win with skellies is numbers. I voted for the light armor. With a 4+ save in HTH you have a good chance of having the WS 2 skelly live to get his wimpy strike back. If you arm them with spears they only get a save of 6+ which means that most of your skeletons won't make the save. With light armor 1 in 2 wounds are save with just shield (with spear) only 1 in 6 are saved. For combat resolution it's as important to avoid casualties as it is to cause them.

I agree that Skelletions need numbers to win, but I would argue that paying for light armor is a waste if you want numbers. 2pts per model is a fairly large difference.
