Farewell and Goodbye

Post by Rasputinii »

My friends,

After some consideration I have decided to make my absence more formal, and put up a good-bye notice. As the astute amongst you may have noticed I have barely been online since mid-October. That’s not because I have fallen out with the site, but because I have all but left the Hobby. I started Art School in October, and well, my priorities have changed, and Warhammer barely features in my life any more. I haven’t played a game in 3 months and I don’t really miss it. So yeah, Ras doesn’t really do warhammer any more. I haven’t quit. I never will, and never want to, but I can’t claim it means as much to me as it used to when I loved it.

Therefore I have decided to bite the bullet, clean my room of Warhammer (filing it away) and remove D.net from my Bookmarks Bar (Mac man me). But before I do I want to say good bye to you guys, who are a great bunch of people, allot of which I would call friends and many of which I came to know in real life.

So first let me make a general good bye, to those I didn’t know, I hardly knew and haven’t met thank you. This site is great, and its you guys who made it so great. We were called elitest, but really its only because you guys are the elite, the elite of Warhammer site members. This was always my favourite online Warhammer zone thingy, and yeah, I would hate to pop back in and find it gone, so keep up the good work guys and have fun!

However there are some people I would like to say a specialised good bye to, and so yeah, here we go...

Dark Alliance: I owe you so much. You took me from being a welp of a boy and honed my skills to a level I didn’t know existed. You invested your time and effort in me, and for that I am thankful. Thank you.

Keledron: The fountain of Warhammer Knowledge. My friend and my Mentor, I too owe you so much for my development as a player. A massive thank you, and I wish you all the best. You never know we may do a tournie again in the future, but I think it unlikely. Thank you.

Ant: My friend, I haven’t known you for long, but you have been very supportive and very kind. I hope you go from strength to strength and stick with your Druchii investment. Thank you.

I think that’s it actually. The others I would have written a special thing to have all gone before me, so there is no point.

If you wanna get in contact with me feel free to email me:
harry.major@gmail.com
But I’ll check my PMs every so often, so yeah, hmm.

Right,

Bye and good luck.

Harry / Ras

P.S. That was long, but then you know I like to overdo things...
Pleased to be back

Goodbye to you too then, Ras.

You allways was one of the greatest members of the site, and you will always be welcome. For me at least :P .
Stopping Warhammer is your own choise, but hey, off-topic isn't warhammer right, so you can allways just pop by and talk about nothing in there or the chat :P .
And don't worry, the site will stay ;) .

Who am I going to have to completely agree with all my mad ideas now! And we never got you to a GT either!

p.s. Seeing as you haven't actually quit, fancy a game sometime in the next 3 weeks now I'm back in Kent for Xmas? Or something non Warhammer related if you prefer!

Bye dude, it was nice knowing you. You made me improve as a player for sure when I still played/used this site, I'm only here cos I'm skiving of my work. Well anyway this place will be worse without you dude, I'll still enjoy your crazy bulletins and so on.

I'll bet 10 Euro that you will be back when the new book comes out, you will never leave the dark side, you know that. I know that starting an education will often consume tons of time and interest, but trust me there will be more time to enjoy hobbies and such in the comming years :D

But good luck to you!

Fine.... well we don't want you here anyway. Go and never darken this place again.

Ant: Yeah, course mate. You got my number.

Everyone: Thanks for the kind words. Very nice of you indeed. Just to say its not that I don't have the time for the game, more that my interests have changed, and Warhammer doesn't really give me the same kick it used to. If you know what I mean. Oh and Myspace. Its all about myspace now. It occupies my online time quite nicely ;)...

I didn't really know you but when I first joined the site you were the first one to send me a pm about some post I did. I can't remember why but you were nice about telling me what was up unlike mods on some other forums.

So anyway thanks for the great contributions and I thought I would share that one small thought and thanks I had back from my first postings on the site.

Imagine the irony , if the new friends you'll make at the art school are WHFB fantics...hehehe.....there is no escape.

I'll miss your posts. But its better for you that you focus on life-important stuff like your art school, and if backing off from D-net for a good long while will help with that then it must be done.

Good luck!

Ah Razzy :P .... get it, razzy?... nm ;)

Yeah I haven't seen you in ages, and since you talked about possibly moving to the states, and school and such I had assumed the big red(orange) machine has taken off.

Appreciate all you've done mate, pleasure dealing with you and best of luck in life.

Cheers.

Bye Ras! You'll be sorely missed, especially when I need some new bit of advice on tactics. Your replies (though not necessarily in a thread I started) have helped me to improve my skills as a player. I hope you'll visit the site now and again :)

Oh yeah, and good luck with the art and all other aspects of life that you enjoy more or less :)

OMG Ras, you totally, like, have to be, like, my myspace friend ;) Sorry to hear you're leaving, but I guess now Team Mulligans has no opposition, hurrah! Any way, good luck with your life and all the other things out there.

Bye Ras. As the others have said, I'm sure you will be tempted back here sometime.

But I'll say this is a loss of sorts.

And good luck on art school.
