I'm a student at University studying Ancient History. I don't have any plans to use that at all, I'm just interested. After I'm finished me, and a friend of mine are setting up shop in Slovenia and working on a project. That's all I have planned to do with my life, but one thing is sure, you won't find me working 9-5 behind a desk with a spreadsheet in front of me. Not that I'm insulting anyone who does that you understand. It's just, I don't.
People say I'm cocky, I say it's because they know I'm the best.

My wife is a professional fantasy artist named Nene Thomas, and we sell her artwork at gaming shows around the country for a living. In my spare time, I've started writing a series of novels based off of characters she's created throughout her career. The first novel, "Powerborne", is finished and will be released in April 2010. If anyone is interested in reading some of it, we've released the Prologue and first ten chapters on our website. You can find it here:

There is one rule, above all others, for being a man. Whatever comes, face it on your feet.
I am officially an "IT Support Technician" at a secondary school. Basically I fix all the problems the kids cause, which aren't as many as I would have expected.
Unofficially, at least for now, I also dabble in network management, random bursts of programming software and way too much web design and development (I prefer the development side).
No idea what I will be doing in the future though, hopefully something similar but with the way the school is going in the next few years I have no idea what's going to happen.
I did that at college. Software wasn't too bad but the lecturer was a bit strict with some of the bits (and the other one didn't fully understand PHP and was suprised by my website that I created for it).
If you want to go on to be a software person (web development/design, programming etc) then software is the way to go. If you want to go on to general technician-y things then Networking is the way you want to go. I'm kind of wishing I had done Networking but I learnt Java which has come in somewhat useful, plus the people in the software classes were more friendly.
Where are you studying?

As our teacher is a idiot and refuses to help anyone. Then im planning on getting a degree in programming and then getting a job. But may move to P.C maintenance due to bad rumors about programming.

I am a a Laborer with Local 79 in NYC
this means I am a construction worker, my union's Jurisdictions of work include demolition , General Contracting, and Mason Tending
For those not knowing what this means. Mason tending is when you provide the brickies(masons) with block, morter as well as set up scaffolding for them.
General Contracting or GC is basically tending all the trades on a job site. Mostly involves helping them when they need someone to help them, cleaning up after them, jobsite safety work, punch list, cleanup as a whole as well as any demo needed on the job.
And yes i make mysoginistic comments to passing women who are attractice. in fact it is in my pay scale lol

Hurrah i'm a labourer aswell, joy to the construction industry. I'm training to be a stone mason in Bath Great Britain of course, uhh halfway through that then i'll be doing a degree in masonry architecture. My am is to work in the ancient skills sector, cob walling, flint knapping, hedge laying, thatching, earthen floor, dry stone walling and so on. I'm also learnin anglo saxon in the hope it will aid me with thousand year old church documents, joy...Greten..
Stand and deliver sir!, lest I cleft your head in twain....
I've just finished Year 13, university didn't really appeal to me, I wanted something more adventurous as a career. So I'm tryting to get a part-time job in the local GW for a while before I join the RAF, applying as a Pilot, hopefully flying fast jets. If not, there's always Apache Helicopters and Firemen as well.
If all goes well.
If all goes well.

I'm 18 an I've just finished the 12th Grade (the last year of school before university) in Sweden (5th june), then I've been working at a nice resturant specializing in salmon 6 weeks for the 3rd summer in a row on Swedens west coast where my family has a summerhouse, and now I've just gotten back to Stockholm again.
I want to get into medical school and become a surgeon but unfourtunatly it is very hard to get into that education, having top-grades is not enough as there are too few places, people need luck beside top grades to actually get in. There is this national test that everybody in Sweden can do and your score on that test is taken into account at almost all educations in Sweden alongside your schoolgrades, so my plan for this fall is to study for this test to increase my chances of getting in as well as finally pull myself together and get my drivers licence. If all else fails I will also see what options I have for studying to become a doctor in some other EU country.

What do I do? As little as possible for as long periods of time as possible. Or in other words I work in theatrical acting.
I didnt take the ''mainstream'' path to where I am today. I never slaved around in an acting academy.
I have since early childhood been very into roleplaying and most of my hobbies and interestes through my life have revolved around this. In the beginning it was the adventure that intrigued me but in my teen years I started to take more interest in the personal aspects of a character and the adventure took a backseat to this.
I played(and still do) LARP's(Live Action RolePlaying) or in laymans terms ''beating the living daylight out of eachother with foam weapons while wearing costumes''
I found my calling around the time that I realised that figuring out an ''imaginary'' persons hopes and ambitions was more interesting than the other aspects of the hobby and started delving into such things. So I knew it was either writing or acting. (and I always found schoolwork extemely boring)
After public school I went on to take various classes all while I took any acting job I could get. Today I dont do comercials and I dont do movies or tv. Id rather be poor but independant and love my job than be rich and have a job I hate.
Theres no amount of money or any number of cameras that even compares to stepping onto a stage infront of alot of people. Besides. Reading a script and getting in touch with a character is just the best job I could dream of.
Im probably one of the few people under the age of 30 who can say Im exactly where I want to be career wise.
My future dreams is somewhat scarce. I might move on to tv of movies sometime in the future but its not a plan of mine at this point.

Sir I salute you for a job well done in perseverence and dedication.
As for me. I am currently in school with a military history major in hopes of working for a museum or doing post secondary education. I'm not sure which one yet.
Job wise I work for the sporting goods store the Sports Authority working in their team sports department as the unofficial lead associate for that department. I also umpire baseball a majority of the year doing about 100-140 or so games a year.
So needless to say that I'm quite busy most of the year and I love every moment of it. Though I'm going to be the first person to admit that always being the bad guy is pretty fun at times especially when I have the power to tell a man twice my size to shut up and leave. Ahhhhhh. The joy of power.

Right here beanz I'm only in my second year though, my grades are slipping seeing as how I'm lazy as hell and can't stay focused.
Aside from that I make pizzas at a local place in town, I do community theater from time to time, I skateboard, I'm in two bands (bass, guitars, vocals, etc), and I moderate around here. I love my free time though, what little I get.

I'm a web designer/developer and part time english teacher (I'm british but i live in spain). This year i'm hoping to start studying at the open university to become a proper teacher.
Apart from that I'd work as anything except waiter, which is the job i hate the most.

Most of the year I've been just loitering inside doing nothing, living on social security. I have a five week job run during the first quarter of the year but have been unemployed since. My city has something like a 17% unemployment rate and since it's Finland I am living in, you need a college degree to do any job (being a cashier or a cleaner as well!!).
Now when my school starts 1st september I'll have something meaninful to do which makes me happy. Nine months doing nothing .

Geez, there`s a lot of young `uns around ! So many students...I knew I was old...
After about twenty odd years in Private Security including Events, CPP, Casinos (well there`s only seven or eight in Oz, and only one decent one), Mobile/Incident Response, and Nightclubs, I decided to get a real job that might mitigate the shift work so I could actually see my family grow up without getting no sleep.
Funnily enough, I still do shift work, and it`s in a Madhouse ! (I knew I`d get home eventually !)
What it really is, is working for a local Government Department here in the Australian capital CANBERRA (no, it`s not Sydney...), looking after people with Intellectual Disabilities, particularly those that display Challenging Behaviour. That`s a polite term for those people that display totally OUTRAGEOUSLY anti-social, aggressive, self injurous, downright MAD behaviour. In short, not many people want to work with such individuals. In less compassionate societies, and not that long ago in this country, such individuals were basically sedated into a zombie like state and/or incarcerated in some forgotten dungeon and forgotten about. Since the early `nineties, there`s been a radically different model that allows most of these folk to live in State funded supported accommodation, staffed by people like me.
In short I`m a Disabilities Carer. In reality I`m one of the Keepers of the Lost. And that`s not meant to be a joke.
It`s mentally and emotionally draining work, but extremely rewarding when you can break through to some of the tormented souls that exist in our world. It`s a fluid, stimulating work environment, and I have some very taxing days. But it`s worth it. Everyone deserves a chance at quality of life, not just thrown in the `too hard` basket.
After spending a shift helping other humans that have been dealt the cruelest card by the gods (a damaged brain), it`s the most grateful and humble experience to come home to two beautiful young daughters and a supportive wife.
I tell ya. Don`t take your intelligence and sanity for granted. All of us are just an aquired brain injury away from living such a hell as the guys in my care.
Love life, and love each other. !smile! !wink!
