Can anyone name this weapon?
What's the name of the weapon some of the dark elf / skaven assassin models have please, the one which is like claws or a blade attached to the wrist?

Isn't Katar another name for a punching dagger? The type our new corsairs can have?
These are secured to the wrist and back of your hand, instead of being held in your hand (like Katars)

Katars look very different from the Eshin Fighting Claws and work in entirely different ways (such as different anchor points etc). There's no real-world analogue that I'm aware of, and the closest I can find in fantasy elsewhere is the Claw Bracer from D&D.

Like Dalamar said a katar is punching dagger that I suppos eyou could say is worn similarly to a knuckle duster. I'm assuming you're more interested in something along the lines of the predator wrist blades? No idea what to call them other than big frikkin scary badass wrist blades though.

Generally, that would work for me, people would get the message.
If a consensus can't be made, then I guess 'wrist blades' work pretty well, it's descriptive and simple.
I'd say go with Fighting Claws/Wrist Blades, whatever suits your taste.

Cestus is the name for an african claw weapon held in the fist like a knuckle duster but with curved blades projecting between the fingers. There is no historical analog for the weapon as it wouldn't physically be possible. It would need at least a strap running across the palm to stop the thing on the arm sliding up.

o_O Actually a caestus is an ancient form of boxing glove used by the Romans consisting of leather straps sometimes reinforced by metal bands or spikes.

Cool, that will be where the name came from. No idea what the africans actually called it.

The Indians (not the American kind) had a similar weapon called a Tiger Claw, I think, except in this case the claws protruded between the fingers.
Edit: just looked on wikipedia: I was correct, called a bagh nakh working as I described.

Those look... impractical. There's also a matter of source. Ain't really going to put much stock in what they say to be honest.Kheel wrote:http://www.trueswords.com/images/prod/c/cmaz_540.jpg
