Grand Tournaments

Post by Tarantino »

Having somewhat mythical proportions in my eyes, participating in a GT is something I would certainly like to do in the future. Since I live in Europe and being only 16, the only obvious choice is one in the UK. (Well there is one in Holland too but that doesn't count :) )

Can somebody tell me in which period of the year there ar GT's in England? Those in summer I would prefer the most, and those in Nottingham too.

Thanks

All UK GTs are in Nottingham. You have three heats in the autumn/winter period (you can only play in one) and then final in the spring (if you qualify).

You can easily find the exact dates on GW website (the UK one).
7th edition army book:
Games Played: 213
Games Won: 114 (54%)
Games Drawn: 33 (15%)
Games Lost: 66 (31%)

8th Edition army book W/D/L:
Druchii: 36/4/16

I thought they didn't do qualification any more (all the events are stand-alone)? Or has that changed back again?

It depends on whether you want to enter a GW Grand Tournament, or one of the arguably better run independent tournaments.

GW don't run a heat system any more and so their events have lost some of their status and appeal. Next year in the UK you have:

April - South Coast GT run by Dan Heelan and the boys
June - Summer Incursion II which is our (Maelstrom Games) GT
July - Midlands Open

Then later in the year you have Teeside, Warlords GT mate their are loads of them.

In Ireland the GW GT is lauded very highly. Denmark has Giant Fanatic towards the end of the year. They are everywhere. The best place to find out details is here:
