I had read somewhere (I believe it was a post from Adrael) that all ranks could shoot at large targets-Is this true? If so, where is it in the rule book? I have not been able to find it!

There is still a grey area here though. If a dragon stands in front of a unit of archers ranked 5 across the front by 4 deep do they all shoot?
If you apply the Chronicles rule then yes, but, talking to Gav @ Gamesday he said only the front two.
Another example of GW not completely addressing rules issues methinks
