Failed Dispell, then Scroll?

Post by MangoPunch »

If a sorceress fails to dispell a spell, can she then use a dispell scroll on a different spell later in the same phase?

Good, that's what I thought... but the "this scroll can be used instead of dispelling" threw me as it could be interpreted as instead of that wizard dispelling.

I disagree. The scroll is used instead of doing a normal dispel, if the sorceress can´t dispel normally then she can´t use the scroll.

I second guessed myself on this one, the faq here on page 5:
http://www.blacklibrary.com/Downloads/P ... EBOOK-.pdf

Last column, 4th question, appears to say no.

Can a Wizard use a scroll if it isn’t allowed to make a
dispel attempt, for example the spell was cast with irresistible force
or the wizard has previously failed to dispel a spell that turn? (p35)
A: No

So bring a lvl 2 Scroll Caddy and a lvl 4 wizard that gets to dispel with the DD.

If you have dispel dice left but no wizard can dispel, the "Army" can dispel using the remainder of the dice, You just don't get any bonus for wizard lvls.
