2 queries from a game I had today

Hi guys, sorry in advance if this is common knowledge..

1. Does a unit of warlocks channel in the magic phase?

2. My high beastmaster was snipered off his chariot by an empire hero today - does the chariot stay in the game or die with him? And if it stays does that mean I deny my opponent the VP'S for the whole model?

P.S I played the game answering both questions as no - and still pulled out the win!

1. Yes.
2. It stays in the game (it has another crew) and your opponent gets no points because the chariot lived (same with the cauldron or the empire arch lector).
