Was just thinking about meeting engagement scenario and was wondering what would happen in the following scenario
Cold one knights/chariot enters on long table edge within 6 inches of enemy, goes to move fails stupidity test, shambles forward into base to base contact with enemy, rules for entry and stupidity are clear unit cannot charge however I have seen a skaven v dark elf battle report where a hellpit abomination enters and it's random movement takes it into b2b contact and therefore charges.
So back to the Cok/coc, does it count as a charge, or do you stop 1 inch away from enemy unit or do you go into combat but it counts as if no one charged ( as the enemy isn't just going to stand their and watch the enemy if they are in reaching distance to swing at.)
Just a Sunday afternoon thought :-)

Re: Stupidity charges
Being stupid does not make the unit ignore impassable terrain.
1" limit to any unit is impassable, except during a charge.

Re: Stupidity charges
The difference between stupidity and hellpit abomination is that stupidity specifically states you can't charge that way.
While Hellpit Abomination actually moves that way normally and can charge with its random movement.
In other words, if you fail stupidity test and roll high enough to touch an enemy unit (or a piece of impassable terrain) you stop 1" away from it.

Re: Stupidity charges
Just one more point to add regarding the HPA/random movers coming in as reinforcements. Random movers move during compulsory movement phase while reinforcements come during the remaining moves phase. That being the case, the random movers only enter the board and stay where they are - they cannot charge in the turn they come on unless they have an additional special rule that allows them to do this.

Re: Stupidity charges
I think that the confusion about Stupidity comes from the fact that in prior versions, a unit could end up charging as a result of a failed Stupidity test. This is no longer true in the current edition.
On a related point, it also used to be that a failed stupidity test could cause a unit to go bumbling into friendly troops, keeping them from moving. That is also no longer true.
