Is a Lance or Spear (mounted) one use only?

Post by Vinicius »

Hi!
First post! :)
I'm quite a new player and I've been searching the forums for an answer to this question but so far I've had no luck. I understand that the lance and spear is only used when charging and not in subsequent turns of CC or if the holder has himself been charged.

But does this mean he just drops the weapon after it's first use on the charge or can he use it again if he charges in a turn after that? And can he use it if he charged another unit but in the same turn because of overrun?

I would be so relieved to get this cleared up :)

Well. A model can only fight with the lance in a turn in which he charges.

Logically, the lance would probably shatter on this charge, and in subsequent turns he/she/it draws his/her/its sword and fights with that. But, in the warhammer universe, either the lance is made of sturdy-as-hell wood, or a squire comes running in with a new lance for the knight.

RAW: "A lance is only used in a turn in which the wielder charged into combat".

Translation: any close combat phase resulting from the wielder completing a charge, he uses his lance. It says nowhere that its one use only :)
