Despite having a tendency to agree with you, I have to strongly disagree with the page number.

Most pages are the same. However, BRB p.151 to 489 are about fluff, pics, extra scenario, useless tables... but nothing useful for gaming purpose. Magic is described p.490 onwards. P.178-179 is a nice double page pic showing an army in front of a castle.
Question: The first "B" in BRB stands for? Answer A: Big Answer B: Blue Answer C: Bold Answer D: Bright ...

I always assumed it stood for "Base", but what do I know?
Chinese Relativity Axiom: No matter how glorious your triumphs, nor how miserable your failures, there will always be at least one billion people in China who don't give a damn.
Common translation in French is GBR = Gros Bouquin de Règles so I had a bias towards "Big".

See what you've dug up now, Callisson? We've all been saying "BRB" and there's not even any agreement on what that stands for!!
For the record, I always read it as "Base Rule Book". Can we all at least agree that the last letter B does in fact stand for "book"?

What is the actual page number in the actual BRB? :p
That is what I used to call it too the "Big Red Book". Perhaps had something to do with the rule book being red at the time of the coinage of this acronym.

A mere 512.

Being an RPG player, and an old one at that, I always considered BRB to be Basic Rule Book. Of course, now that I think of it, a potion of the Basic Rule Book contains the Advanced Rules haha.
I was of the impression that in 7th ed, there were differences between the page numbers in the LRB (Little Rule Book) and BRB (Big Rule Book). I could well be remembering that completely inaccurately though. In the current edition, I have the CERB (Collector's Edition Rule Book), also known as the FBRB - I'll let you guess what the F stands for...

As an oldie who was around for the birth of the abbreviation (officially, it's not an acronym as it can't be read as a word), I can confirm that it stood for "Big Red Book" (with the 40k rulebook at the time being the 'BBB' ("Big Black Book")).
Anyway...

We're not derailing again the derailed thread, aren't we?

Is raising the topic of derailment not in itself a further derailment of the already derailed topic that had come into being as a result of a prior derailment?
