i think that the repeater crossbow was due for a re-do because if a cross bow is strenth 4 then the repeater should be strenth 3 thats fair enough but the -1 to hit is preposterous fair enough if u were firing 3 shots but two and with a pityfull range of 24" our elven cousens can sit back and pepper us to hell with there superior range weapons. I mean we might as well be BS3 as standatd because of this travisty and that has been bugging me for ages ever since the book came out. I am open to other players critisisms and please let me know if you agree or not

EBoN is a very nifty program written by a mad Finn called Sammi Pyorre. You feed it a file of sample names and simple rules (such as whether TH should be treated as one or two letters for example) and it will spit out new names it has generated using the sample names and rules as a guideline. It works incredibly well and is easily the best name generator program I have ever come across. There is a link in the first post in this thread to the site where you can download the EBoN program.

That thing is amazing. Maybe ought to get names for the whole army. That might be difficult to keep up with... troops dying on the battlefield all the time

This program is so very cool! I always spend some time making up suitable names (and background stories) for my characters. But sometimes inspiration wont come, and this program really helps out.

Also many players fail to appreciate the highly entertaining aspect of having a characters life (and many deaths) develop during games. Sometimes all it takes is a name and one lucky killing of a vampire-lord to create a legend. Try it - and use the "book of names" if you think names are difficult to think up. It adds to the gaming experience.

Well I haven't used this program until today, but it looks good. Very annoying to have to pay money to use it properly though (especially for people like me who most of the time are running Linux - Us Linux'ers are not used to having to pay for software

), but the .ebn files seem to be just plain text (well, the Druchii one anyway - the others seem to be encrypted somehow...) - why not just open druchiinames.ebn in a text editor ?

You could, but that would just give you a fixed list of names. EBoN actually generates original names using those in the file as examples. Also, EBoN allows you to set the initial letter you want a name to have. If you want your Highborn to have a name that starts with 'S' (for example, to fit with a surname you've thought up), you can keep on generating names (a near-infinite number of different ones) starting with 'S' until you get one you like.

The name generator, as well as the font files, will be available for download from the Black Forge site soon. I will not be emailing them out to anyone else, so please stop asking for them!
