In our gaming club we mostly play 2000pts (partly 'coz 8 of us are getting ready for the UK GT) and every 4 weeks or so we play tag teams of anything up to 4000pts each! Lol in those and generally loads of rules queries too! But all good fun.

One other club I go to have 3000pts as their basic game and it maks them think @ 2000pts.

I personally find 1000pt games a struggle as I don't play them often but would like too.

Aha an idea for a new post! :D

I think 2500 points is a perfect size. 2999 points also seems quite good.

Basically all sizes at the end of the margin (with fewer relative character and rare choices) are good.

i have started playing a half year or so, ago, and i don't have a large army, but i try to play with as much points as possible, but i think that's just because it's maybe 1000p big, and haven't played with one larger than that, so.

I really enjoy the larger battles. About 2500 point is great for me playing Dark Elves. I can take most of what I want (more troops) and if the enemy takes more characters, good for me.

At a stretch i have 6k worth of stuff however i prefer armies of 2k and 3k size as I just take heaps and heaps of models I.e. 7 infantry units and alot of cavalry.

i usually play 1000 points, but my army is crap because my main oponent has many goblin fanatics which just mess up my small units, but when in 2000 points, its a different matter with 60 percent of the wins going to me (so far we have played 21 games and i have won 13)

I'm aiming for my army to make the 2000 point mark, maybe 2500.

Anything between 500 & 5000 pts really.

The 500 pointers are a lot of fun when you've got friends over, feel like a game, but do not want to spend too much time on writing army list,...

By the way, the scenario at the end of the High Elf book is really fun, just replace the "500 pts High Elves" bit with "500 pts Dark Elves"...

Really fun to tame those beasties with the Dark Elves!!!

For week nights, 1000 pts usually, 1500 sometimes (hey, gotta get up early in the morning!).

In the weekend, no limit...

Once I played against 8000 ptsHigh Elves, me playing 5000 pts of Dwarfs (friend's army)
...
I was supposed to fight against 5000 pts High Elves, I only realised he had been cheatin' until after I whiped out his last unit, added up all my victory points and then realised that I got 8000 of them! Without even adding the points for Table quarters (all 4) and captured standards! And I thought it was the Druchii that were devious!
If you must choose between two evils,
pick the one you've never tried before

I play up to 4000, rairly play more, once or twice a year, we play team's then games range around 12k a side (16k max) but the biggest battle I'v been in was 30k a side. ( It took us 2 hours just to place the unit's on the table, and another 5 to do the first two turn's) probably never do it again do to the fact it was more of a pain in the ass when moving then actually having fun. My freind has it on v.camera, but not a digital and I don't know if he put it on cd. It looked amazing on the table top, since every thing was painted and with the bases done. ( and the mixture of figure edition's was enormous) HE had 3 or 4 different edition chariots.
