Inside Information

Post by /\\//\ »

I could spark some strong replies here so I'm going to have to tread carefully!

What I was wondering is if people could send in all the information about other armies such as points value, equipment, magic items and magic, special rules and tactics against them and tactics they are likely to use.

This could qualify as blatant cheating and taking the fun outta the games but looking through the tactics forum I see a lot of the above already.

What do you think of the idea? I can see both good and bad points

Ah, but that would piss off GW (not that they come here anyway... ) but freely giving out all the info is going to realy annoy them.
I mean, who would buy the army books :P ?

I don't see any issue with this, after all it is what the druchii tactics forum offers.

My own Dark Elf book is full of snippets of information, copies of the other army lists from the published army books to date, plus info on the Albion items, some magic lists, the dark emmissary, info about dogs of war units etc etc.

I refer to it as intelligence for my general.

You might want to tie up with the guys proposing the druchii annuals :?:

So I suppose that if you owned the army book it would be fair to use the info? Surely would. So it's no different, from, say, asking a friend how much this costs, or what that does....

Amongst yourselves go for it. No one can stop you.

But don't post the info on these forums or you could get this site into trouble.

Kitrik has had enough problems lately as it is.

I don't think it's much of an issue. On the contrary, people who have played several armies will have a much bigger advantage. If you get the inside scoop, you can get by if you have a little less experience (I have only played Dark Elves and Khorne Chaos).

Besides, this sort of sneaky stuff is the Druchii way!

Well, for me this wouldn't be necessary as I have bought all the 6th ed army books (know thy enemy).

This has already given me access to conversations like "hey, I didn't know there was a magic item that gives your Orc unit 2 magical resistance..." or "how come that Dwarf has got 2 master runes on his axe?" or again... "you take the blessing & you put up scouts?"

On the other hand it's good to know beforehand that those stupid High Elves toting around great swords DO strike in initiative order; that Brets have a banner which takes away the option to flee from a charge so if there's a unit of Knights thundering towards your Dark Riders you should smell the rat...

Bestways to know about these things before getting onto combat grounds

Can't see a problem with sharing info regarding ones experiences, against different armies, what to look out for and what to look forward to.

However reproducing complete army and magic items options lists for the books released so far is probably not the done thing :!:

I like the time when my HE opponent said that his swordmasters had killing blow, he wasn't cheating but he was refering to the swordmaster honnor, but i showed him the corect ruling. and hence, my general lives to fight again :D

I've got some armybooks and use them when fighting my opponents and I have no problem when people do the same.
