Executioner Rumour
Moderators: Layne, The Dread Knights
As far as I've heard executioners are gettin armor piercing on top of the great weapons, for a big -3. This combined with +1 A on the charge and hatred should make them pretty nasty. I hope they don't lose killing blow, but it seems like a possibility.
@Dalamar I used to shun all magic, but now I never leave home without it. 2 lvl 2s is enough for a decent magic phase. The trick is to keep it simple, just go for the simple spells, especially magic missles. Death is probably my lore of choice. Its very handy against monsters and skirmishers.

Oh I don't shun magic, usually playing with 2 lev 2 or 1 lev 4 and 1 lev 2.
But for me it plays support role, like bolt throwers, not something that I can depend on to control the flow of battle (though weirder things happen sometimes)

That is my experience, too. Even if you pour a lot of power into magic, it gets down to the point where you have to charge. However, I have to agree with Handmaiden on the armies which can cause severe problems for us at the moment - espcially the newer ones are extremely difficult to beat.

I'd wager that the armour piercing also represents the skill and precision used in delivering a blow from an (as Dalamar said) a keen and serrated draich. Remember, Executioners kill people for a living, even more so than the rest of the druchii. They know where to strike for an incapacitating wound and no doubt that is applied to the weak points in a foe's armour as well.
