Usually I call mine either "Sweety Pumpkin" or "Smoochems" but if I'm feeling really evil I go with 'My miniature Ego'. ;)

Seriously, I call mine either Khel or Kaleth. Sometimes Vesper.

Most people have names and backgrounds for their armies, many have a substantial writen story base. I do for one. Drainial Athalir being my general with several others in lower positions.

I belive my models have to earn their names. However none of my characters have done anything name worthy, my hydra is called chariot eater though. Usually I just calle them "current general" as they don't do anything special to stand out.

I call my reaper, "Old Reliable" because no matter what the odds, it can't hit squat.

I named my General Ronin, which is a masterless samuri or samurai mercinary.

Every one ellse I took a page from The DE book, and and did anagrams (My two sorceresses Sapacuna and Euthanasia are based off of Sapacu, andEtanasia; the assassin Sevril Relik, serial Killer; And The Standard bearer bach staback is a warped version of "back stabber";

When I get a modle to repressent my Dark Emisary, I'll name him after Richard from "Looking For Group."

My mercinary General is named after the ASpanish Hero "El Cid."

Usually just my army generals get names. Mine is Obsidian Kut (last name subject to change) Obsidian being a substance that cuts perfectly, if a wound heals there will be no scar, but it cuts deep and fast.
my OK army, all the heros and lords have names. but being from the same tribe it's usually just their ogre bignames that change

I call my Sorceror Phil Collins and my General Noble Death Proof. My Hydra's name is Omorosa. My BSB is ChronSmoke.

My one name for my general, essentially since I started playing Druchii (and warhammer at all, for that matter), has been Lord Kashral.

Yeah you really have to name the characters atleast, otherwise they just wont perform well in battle, i know i wouldn't with out a name. :)

Mine currently are;
high sorceress Xeneba
Dark elf Noble Akimoto
Dark elf Noble Shino; and
the Sorceress Ashira

The other thing that atleast part of the group i game with does is semi keep track of which unit + champion has died. I, for example, know that one of my warrior units has been defeated 3 times, but is currently performing amiably under the leadership of Jimbob the fourth.

I once knew a guy who named a plauge Zombie Jimbob, it killed 8 terminators, 5 tactical marines and a chaplin over the course of several games.

I used to name every single character, mostly out of habit. Sometimes I would be serious about it and give them proper names, but sometimes I would give them obviously ebonic names to get a laugh out of my opponents.

All my Generals have been members of the esteemed Naïlo family.

As for lower-ranking characters... who cares, really :twisted:

Elven names in general are easy to create. Just throw in a lot of syllables together, and use letters such as D, K, R and P to make them sound evil. Adding a "th" in there also helps.

For Asuryan and Asrai names, I do the same, but go for extra vocals, and a casual "ae" won't hurt. Like my Asrai Wardancer general: Aeliaria.

My mages are Death, Darkness and Despair. It depends how many are in my list and which Lore they're using.

I don't do this, but it seems that lots of druchii surnames have something to with knives--Darkblade, Baneblade, etc.

But now that I think about it, maybe I'll have to debut my new general, Blunt Butterknife. "Watch out Asur scum or I'll lay you out like so much Vegemite!"

I like to choose names of characters from books I have been reading and hope they live up to it.
Currently my high Sorceress is Alviarin Darkhand
Noble - Markus (For various reasons the model is actually a vampire and the name fits)
Sorceress- Ispan

Ah why not. No longer a DE player(and all characters are either dead or insane) but some example names might not hurt ;

Lord Ashir D´velve(My anointed)
General Deneir Vhar
Captain Khiraq Drein

Cheers!

First off I was annoyed with the rule "stupidity". Then I am also a modeller before I am a gamer and armies like Vampire counts, Daemons(or chaos in general) and now more recently chaos dwarfs simply have more to offer in that aspect of the hobby... well, were alot more fun modelling anyways.

Topic;

Forgot my sorcerer and sorceresses;
Sorcerer lord El´dhaav Steenhart (swedes might understand this one!).
High Sorceress Haelia D´velve
Sorceress Hera Mooruel
