"Eternal Hatred Stirs as the Dark Elves Invade Ulthuan"

DE gets eternal hatred as army rule vs. HE?

Subtle as a hammer. Alessio straight up said we'd be getting Army Wide Hatred and Eternal against HE

Haha good point. Will be interesting on reading up on how GW thinks the should be played, or how the have playtested them.

Haha I knew you were being sarcastic!

As for the WD cover, reminds me of 5th ed which I definitely didn't hate.

Naah, don't really like the cover. Seems we're indeed going back in time, at least looking at this cover and some of the minis that we've already seen.

Still, as I repeatedly tell my neighbor's ugly son, "It's the inside that matters, not the outside" :) Just kidding, but if the new rules in the book are good, then I'd be more than happy and gladly forget about the frontcover.
"Go forth. It is you who will sow the seeds of doubt that others will reap. For this is our way, to strike from the shadows and profit from the results. It will be the Elves of Naggaroth who stand victorious when the dust settles."

While I don't hate the content or the form, I think the color palette is awful... the Reds and Blues make me go cross-eyed. :P

And beyond that, it's kinda boring... With the High Elf cover, there was a lot of movement, and you could tell that an epic struggle was going on. In this image, essentially what we have is a dude on a lizard, and some other dudes, just kind ahangin' out, chillin'. Love the helmet on the CoK rider, though... always did love the intermeshed spikes. But the Cold One's head just looks bizarro. I think Godwin's 3-Up and the Cold One models will probably look much better. :P

And I do like the purple banners with the red serpents and gold border inlays. Very cool.

But overall, I think this picture would be a better image for the DE book cover:

I like the image, but I would of liked a dead High elf in the picture maybe. Plus the colouring looks a bit weird. Too bright would be my opinion.

I really hope that I can adapt to AWH, but it always sucks to miss that last Noble attack on the charge. Well now that I think of it, I don't think it will do much because we always charge, and we always overrun, because we need that charge, and we need to overrun them. Hatred will just help us on the charge to get what we want! :D Lovely on the witch elves, or whatever elite troop we have.

Who ever told the designers to include as many dildo-shaped helmet decorations as possible in the new Dark Elf range and artworks should be shot.

That spike does look pretty cool on top of the warrior though on the front cover. He may be a BSB or a warrior standard bearer. My only thorn is the brightness of it. Make it darker and I shall be proud and shed a tear for GW.

Those are cold ones from WAR though, plus those are battle cows. Ours are more raptor-ish.

Actually, the new cold ones are a nice middle point between the old raptors and the battlecows. The heads expecially look like a blend of the two.

I just got the new WD, I have to say, the DE look really good! The dreadlord on foot for some reason looks way less 'fat' in the actual pic. I think it's a combination of bad lighting and his arms, which are clad in chainmail, thus creating the illusion of a more bulky appearance. The hand and weapon look really intricately done and the head is way more elvish than I thought.

So I'm definitely going to include one!

As for the WD picture, I like it. It's funny how the picture might be less dynamic but the colours add a lively element I didn't see in the HE cover. Which is as it should be I think; the wild, colourful DE vs. the stoic formal HE!

The cover looks awesome!!! I just wish we would get spearmen which do justice to the ones on the cover :(

Actually I quite like the raptor-ish style after thinking about it for a while. Fast and mean but not as big or powerful seems a lot more druchii. The battle cows remind me more of an ork-style. Something like "Da bigga da betta". And if its green I guess no ork can resist its. It'sh green, it'sh huge. And it shtinksh... what else could an ork possibly want?
Not that I mind our current style cold ones :D

considering i have the impression you have read the book i doubt there is much doubt involved :)
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.
