Squid theme rocks in my opinion. As he's a pirate, that makes him even cooler.

Top 3 list of coolest things ever.

1. Ninjas
2. Pirates
3. Dinosaurs with lazers

Ahem, but seriously. The squid is just a helmet, not his actual face. Apparently, it's from the time of the old ones so it's going to be pretty snazzy. I'd like to see the model (in close up I mean) however before I start shouting cheese (which I probably won't because pirates are just so darn cool).

I think people need to stop thinking Squid and start thinking Kracken(sp).

Now giant ship eating Squid that are the fear of every sane sailor, thats sooo much cooler.

Did I miss something or are the rules for this guy posted somewhere??

Well, unless my vision is going, it looks to me that the squid face is a mask... Either that or his head turned into solid gold, but I'm bettingon it being mask, more than likely a magic item.

nice prinny, nice....
I was offset by the corsairs as well. I can get over the squid theme (I was thinking Cthulu as well) but the new sea dragon cloaks look lame (well, I've only seem the inside lining of it so far.)

Druchii seem to have everything cool now: pirates (corsairs), ninjas (assassins), dinosaurs(cold ones). Now we only need some vikings...

I'm getting the spearhead. I expect after a quick look-see Mr. Happy Squid Face (mask or no) is going on ebay. I trust there will be other standard options in the corsair box as well.

Don't get me wrong I enjoy Disneyworld with my five year old daughter as much as the next guy but these squid face pirates need to stay in the movies or at the magic kingdom.

That's the second time ive seen the batalion priced at £60+ pounds. Im beginning to get the feeling that GW will raise the price of their battalions to £60.

Im hoping this isnt true!

On the mask I hope it does something nice other than a ward save or just cause fear.

Ive heard he gets +1 attack per rank of corsairs anyway.

DA any ideas?

They actually have the RRP set at £67.50. And why 28 Warriors?

Recognize that this is just my opinion and others are free to disagree but I don't care if that squid face mask makes the character fart lightning bolts.

Unless fielding that model makes Morathi appear at my house and service me (now that would be a nice enchanted item !wink! ) I will be selling that model to the less discerning.

Nah, I like the model. He could make a cool Noble conversion, and depending on what magic items we get he may not need converting at all. I also like the corsair banner. And to me Witch elf hair looks like tentacles. In fact, I would love to see a new monster--the Kraken--to take to the battlefield(along with its resident lake). Maybe it would have to retreat every second turn to reimmerse itself in water?

I have christened a unit/character combination in the new list as the Kraken. It's designed to take on the VC Deathstar.

Head to head I reckon we will win given fair and average dice.

What is this VC Deathstar? I've never heard of it. Or maybe I have and just never heard it called that.

However I'm going to guess that the Kraken involves LOTS of attacks. ;)

Well, based on rumors you could go with something like....

17 corsairs (for a 7x3 formation) equipped with the corsair only +1 attack banner, the new special character, a BSB on dark steed /w Hydra banner, and an Assassin unit upgrade.

The big question then becomes, is the rumored corsair only +1 attack banner specific to corsairs, or just to their unit? If the corsair only banner gave +1 attack to the unit overall (and not just all corsairs in the unit) then that, stacked with the hydra banner would give you a unit with a crazy amount of attacks.

EDIT: Depending on if the banner works the way I think, that would be 6 or 7 assassin attacks, 5 unit champion attacks, 8 from the two other corsairs, 5 from the noble, 3 from his horse, and probably 8 or so from the special charecters (4 base, +2 banners +2 ranks), or around 36 attacks with various strengths and rerolling misses.

I agree, but imagine how fun it would be if your opponent didn't know about the new rules and suddenly gets in combat with this unit.

Now if the SC grants the corsair unit MR, then the enemy may have a problem.

Lokhir Fellheart will perfectly work out with the fluff I want to give to my army. So glad Corsairs finally have their own special character!
