I am sure someone will have a copy of the book if the store doesn't.

I wish i could believe you, friend. I ordered it in the store and i'll be one of the first to get it. Sadly, in my country there aren't enough people interested and it'll be long time, before we get better in that aspect of the hobby and before GW starts to look at us seriously.

Well I don't have any current connections to GW (Brother was made redundant from the studio about 6 months back) so I see no reason. It just arrived in my daily post.

Heard that alot of people across the UK have got thier Spearheads and 40K rulebooks early, so I'd phone your LGS and ask if it's been delivered already. My money is on it already being there - they just haven't called you as they're unsure what to do (Official release date and all).

Lucky people getting there stuff early. As for us in Canada, I leave for China 3 days after it is released here, that probably means I will have to order it from the online store.

Argh!

As the spearhead owners stay silent I need to give you some bad news  incoming from France

the speardhead seems to include exactly what is shown on the picture:

and the dreadlord is "Abbadon"! no alternative weapon or head (as body and head is one solid piece!). Well that does not mean a blister with the draich-lord won't be sold alone!

Worst is the metal cold one.....yes you gess it: te legs of the sorceress or the master are attached to them! :x :x :x apllause for GW :x

the assassin is indeed the running man ; he has a knive and....a shuriken! 8) real applause for that!

I hope to have more news about the plastic sprue tomorro evenning!

Is it just me, or GW giving the DE the short end of the modelling stick?

I may still be able to get a spearhead here in Canada if i want, but i want to know what's in it first. If the new models have that much metal, then we're in for some serious conversion time.

And lo mankind felt a dark tremor as a cry of terror could be heard throughout the universe, it was the sound of millions of conversion plans suddenly crumbling into dust...
Now it's been ten thousand years. Man has cried a billion tears.
For what he never knew, now man's reign is through.

But through eternal night. The twinkling of starlight.
So very far away. Maybe it's only yesterday.

you can still convert them if they are metal. it just takes a saw, drill and the great green stuff.
it figures that they would make the sorcceress on cold one all metal since they did the same thing to the VCs.

but back to the topic, DA i hate you !cry! j/p

Thats really very annoying. I was going to put my sorceress on a steed and put malus darkblade on the mount.

Why do they do this when anyone with half a brain would immediately say "no way" if it was suggested. :x

The dreadlord we saw with the Draich must've been a conversion. :| What could of possessed the design teams to sculpt the legs onto the new cold one? They're going to be a real pain to get off.

I like the description of the assassin. Shurikens are full of the win.

Well I was planing on getting in the deep end of the pool with regards to greenstuffing the new models. Now I have to do it so no big changes here.

Its because games workshop is actually run by a huge black orc who took one too many knocks on the head, and designed by his team of goblins and skaven who dont realise this was 'stupid' to say the least. Dont they want everyone who wants a conversion to buy their new metal kits?

Luckily if its the actual body you wanted for conversion elsewhere, finding legs for it shouldnt be too hard. I think. Personally i wont be purchasing either mounted character just yet, i preordered the foot sorceress and spearhead style assassin, and i may purchase lokhir and the foot dreadlord. Apart from that its troops and hydra for me.

It :o me off quite a bit when GW do things like this. especially to us druchii, we have been patient and although we got models we deserve and a great looking book from rumours (not seen it yet) they missed out a heck of a lot of stuff we needed updating AND messed up conversion ideas for these two. Im not complaining, well okay i am, but well done to the model range as a whole anyway ;)

i just wish i had a spearhead, mainly for the book!!!

This was my exact plan as well. Piss. Guess I'll be converting the Mounted Sorceress to a Mounted BSB with Hydra Banner after all...

As I said earlier, we druchii are getting the short end of the modelling stick.

However, should they start selling individual mounts (cold ones and steeds) like they are getting around to, then we could simply use those, give a slight trim to them, and place our characters on them.

But one way or the other, I stand by my opinion that we're in a rigged situation to always get the short straw. Look at our model range from 6th Ed. Excepting Cold Ones, Dark Steeds (which look like c**p anyway), Malekith's Draon (now outdated) and the DE Warriors (which at least look acceptable), it's a pure metal range.

And look at that ed's character section: Stale Sorceresses, Beastmasters (Manticore and foot) and the (at least somewhat good-looking) Assassins. There was no room for conversions in that group, with so few models and all of them metal. Thankfully GW has scrapped most of those ones for better-looking (but grudgingly still metal) pieces, but that's about all they've done.

Being redone this close to the release of 7th Ed says that we're one of the original races (DE, HE, Empire, Chaos, Dwarfs, O&G, Vampires, unless I'm mistaken). And look at us! While the majority of the other groups have plastic and/or extensive model ranges, we have fluff and little else. It's repulsive!

May Khaine have mercy on their souls, because I for one will not... Then again, he's not likely to give it either.

Sorry for the rant guys, I just needed to get that off my blood-slicked chest.

Your talking crap. Wait untill you see the models before jumping to conclusions.

The conversion possibilities are endless, there is so much stuff pack onto the plastic sprues that you will never struggle to personalise your army. The legs being attached to the coldones just mean you have to find the top half of the body, thats not really a problem. The plastic knight legs fit horses and the dragon and the dreadlord/sorceress torso will fit the knight legs easily.

Prince, when 6th edition came out we got the best models that have held up to even new models. I mean look at our sculpts, they are still awesome models even by today's standards. I agree the dark riders needed a plastic kit however everything new I personally think is a great sculpt, shoot 5 COK for 22 bucks i mean god damn at that price you can buy one strictly for converting.
