Ranks and Levels are up!!!

i've just finished making the ranks for this site. They are:

0-9 - slave on the altar (too good to resist!!!)
10 - Peasant
25 - Trainee Warrior
50 - Warrior
75 - Corsair
100 - Shade
125 - Dark Rider
150 - Executioner
200 - Witch Elf
250 - Black Guard
300 - Beast Master
400 - Noble
500 - Assassin
600 - Highborn
800 - Malekith's Personal Guard
1000 - Malekith's best friend or Custom title (pm kitrik for this)

commets, suggestions for changes???

I think it's rather fun that I had about 700 posts in the old forum, now I'm a peasant or something with my 20 or so posts... I was rather happy that the rankings were away.. But then again it is nice that sites have options that just crave SPAM, the more you post the *cough* "Tougher" *cough* you are... Couldn't we just be without those damn rankings...

its a good point, and its probably why kitrik never did the rankings for the new site - if only quality of posts could me measured and done thru rankings too, but we can't - its that simple.

The idea of ranks is to get some sort of measurement as to who is actuve and who isn't on the site - this can be done through just number of posts, but rankings do work as well and just provide a different way of doing it. The problem being that an active spammer doesnt deserve to get good ranks is definitely there however...

but i aint gonna delete it on 1 person's say so - im gonna need a few ppl backing u up before i get off my but and do it - otherwise, what if you're the only one who doesn't want them??? then i delete them, and everyone thinks its screwed... meaning i need more comments about them...

if u think that was just a whole load of bs just to say 1 little thing (i want more comments before i delete it), u might be right (i just realised this as i finished typing it

I'm impartial. Ranks are fine by me, but I can live without them.

It's ok to have them... They are not needed, but are quite some fun!

I'd think about changing Peasant to something else, tho, it does not sound very Druchii.

I've never liked rankings or anything which publicly counts the number of posts that anybody has done. I've posted more than most people on the revised list, but that does not mean that my ravings carry any more weight or credibility than those of anybody else.

Just scrap the silly system and let each and every posting be judged on the merit of its content alone. (Regulars will soon recognise whose scribings are worth waiting for and whose call only for instant application of the 'ho-hum's!)

I too find it humorous,as like Arcturus, I had lots on the old site.then encountered 2 MONTHS of computer problems and down time. Now I'm starting over again. Do I care ? No ; my whole life has been like a Bozo bop bag......I get knocked down but always get back up......Kinda like DE going from 5th edition to Thorpe's 6th edition rendition.....only I haven't recovered from that one yet.. :roll:

mmm. I know what yall be saying about the whole spam issue. The other message boards I deem worthy to grace with my presence (hey, druchii are supposed to be arrogant and self-centered

) have suffered from the same problems....

Personally, I don't really like the rankings, as they all too often encourage spammers-I think having Kitrik hand out custom titles to those who impact the site in a positive way would be a better way to go....any thoughts on this?

I think that you should be able to choose any rank which youve 'unlocked'.
eg. if youve 150 posts you should be able to choose anything from Executioner to peasant.
So if you were a Dark Rider but wanted to be a Corsair you could choose to be a corsair but not anything higher than a Dark Rider.

um, that'd be great, except for the fact that it'd be like hell to administrate... really it would be.

so far ive seen about 50/50 each way, maybe leaning a little towards deleting it... so im gonna wait like 2 days for you guys to post a few more opinions, and then im gonna make a poll (those who dont actually want to post on this thread have the right to have a say in this)
