Hi, my name is Arthur, and I'm this year's WHFB Canadian Team Captain.

The WHFB team championship's are upon us! And the team is gathering. We need player's willing to represent their country in the event. In order for team Canada to be able to participate, the team need's at least one more Canadian player. Up to 4 players can be mercenaries, we have some of the best players from may countries interested in taking up your place, but the maximum number of mercenaries is 4. Unfortunately we are down some players, in result we need at least one more Canadian member* ;). And we urgently need volunteers.

For those not familiar with the event, A few word's about it
The ETC was originally an European Team event, that has grown to a world wide event, and most awesome event ever to take place !!! It is an event organized, by players for player's. Each year the event is held in a different country. Where almost 40 countries, from all over the world, battle each other over two day's, until a single champion emerges. It is the BEST tournament in the world, and there is nothing like it any where else. Canada was a participant in 2010, we did not get a team down for 2011, so it is very important to be there this year. Apart from the main event, there are also side event's. This year, the event is held in Poland, in the city of Gorzow.

Plan of the event's
11-12.08.2012 - Polish Open Team Championships. (5 player teams)
13-14.08.2012 - Players Vision Tournament.
15-16.08.2012 - Singles Championship.
17-19.08.2012 - Team Championship (Main Event)

How does it work
Each country is entitled to one WHFB team, made up of 8 players (40k and FoW are held at the same time).
Each country is pared up Swiss system.
Then Captains/Teams pair up their 8 players.
After battles are finished the scores are added up, and new paring's are made.
After 2 day's we have a winner.

Any one interested is encouraged to check out team forum http://www.tcf.gofar.pl where you can find all the information about the team, and the event it self. And more information about the event is available on TWF http://warhammer.org.uk/phpBB/viewforum.php?f=33

Also if you know any place we should look for team mates please let me know.

Thanks, and hope to hear form you soon :)

*must be 18 to participate (legal drinking age in Poland)

I know what you mean, I had the same attitude until I talked with some one that has been at the event, and at one point he asked me, well how many times have you taken part? Well I have not, He told me that first I should go, and then we can argue about the rules pack.

Well all that take part in the event praise it, so it cant be that bad .

Unfortunately I don't know any Canadians who play warhammer in Dublin :o

If I do run into any I will point them your way.

Best of luck getting your teams together.

See you in Poland.

About the event itself, I was one of the Head wfb Referees for 3 years and I would recommend anyone to attend if they get the opportunity.

Never mind the rules pack - whether you like it or not is irrelevant - it's about the spectacle of the occasion, the social aspect and getting to partake in your hobby with 500 or so other crazy mad gamers.

It's a really good experience and an opportunity you should not pass up if you get the chance.

A killerk I’m from Vancouver, i myself can’t make in to the ETC but we have a very strong warhammer community out here so you might like to try the www.wcp-vancouver.com forum. The west coast is planning on getting a team out next year but you may find one or two guys if you try here.
