Can assassins still take poisons and magic weapons, or would magic weapons null the effects of poison?

Also, are rending stars gone?

I think Assassins can take any magic items except armour (they don´t have any armour options themselves, so no magic armour). Poisoned attacks doesn´t work with magic weapons, but it might work with these magical poisons.

Assassins can take an extra hand weapon or a handbow, but I haven´t heard any mention of the Rending Stars.

So it's a bit early to do the Dath Vader "NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

if we don't keep rending stars this edition (which I think made assassins as endearing this edition, if I remember right).

There's been no mentioning of Rending Stars whatsoever. I fully endorse this from a fluff perspective, but I can't see myself fielding any assassin anytime soon. Maybe a single time with the cloak for kicks and giggles, but that's about it, it's not like he can use it to its full extent.

No Rending Stars, but Assassins start with two hand weapons and handbow standard.

Also, Tullaris and Kouran are no longer champions so lore of life won't resurrect them, it can keep them alive though if you're very careful (they are both 2W and 5+ save... that's it)

So HW and Hand bow standard.

Will the KB poison work on ranged weapons, or no?

Can I assure if any of the poisons will work range weapons?

At least one of them does (-1 Ld per wound suffered)

This is wrong. they start with hand weapon and thrown weapons. They can upgrade to handbow etc

Yes it can join any unit just like a character. Needs to be placed in the centre of the front rank is only requirement. It can march, and is classed as a chariot so d6 st6 impact hits

A few questions:

- What is the points cost of the Bloodwrack throne?
- Can the throne join units as well or is it just a regular chariot?
- What is the Movement of the Throne/Cauldron?
- Is there anything that protects the Throne/Cauldron against cannon balls?
- Can the Cauldron be singled out for BS shooting (like Bolt Throwers)?

Also.. Harpies.

7.5 slaves per model sounds like too much. If this is true, were there any other changes to the stats of them?

Thanks!

Regarding the assassin and the Poison that does -1 to leadership when a wound is caused, is that only in close combat or would it work with his shooting? Would be really good then if you could ping units/monsters with -1 leadership from afar.

That does sound good. Park a unit of shades up close and personal, give them a shade with handbow and that poison, and let the panic attacks happen.

On a note assassins can't do, what are the rumors on our magic armor if any?

No magic armor for us.

As for the morale sniping assassin: With a price tag of ~100 and only a tiny chance of actually causing a wound on most monsters (S4 rending stars or S3 xb), I can't see the assassin being viable.

I have an idea of the best usage of the PoD spell:

You take CoK 4 wide, in the 1st rank: Musician, Standard and Champion. Then take another Hero. In the second bunker the sorceress. Is it a good idea to prevent her from Close combat attacks?

I wouldn't write off our Assassins yet.
+d3 attacks gift and twillight cloak doesn't sound bad against monsters, especially with poison.

We have to wait a little bit more before we can start making assassin builds. I think we can field a slightly cheaper and decent assassin.

From what I understoid, the d3 attack gift is Death Hag only. Assassins only get the poisons. The cloak mightstill be a possible item, but I think it's too much of a waste and rather put it on a pegasus hero or lord as to use it to its full extend.

yes it can - special rule "will of the gods" allows it to march and join units etc
5
CoB 4+ ward, BWT nothing
Dont see why it could. Its a chariot that has joined a unit. Its not a Large target or anything. Its exactly as if a cavalry model joined an infantry

A viable assassin would be similar to a skaven assassin with potion of strength and weeping bladeds (d3W), they have base 4++ ward save.

So far I havnt seen anything that suggest we can build anything similar. We get +1 to wound, and either d3W or 4+ ward save.

But we will have to see what Assassins get, to judge them. But right now they are gonna need a serious boost, we havnt heard or yet, to make them interested from anything beyond a fluff perspective.

I guess Shadowblade decided to hog all the Assassin skills and keep it for himself, rather than train other DE assassins. :)
