i Hope these new sisters are still viable in small units, as witches are now!

I really can't believe that we get ASF AND Hatred... Might be that those guys who read WD thought they had hatred still as someone in close combat got to reroll to hit (because of ASF and higher I)?
And I can't believe this one either "Unsure what options were used but that means the warriors were 12 points per model". Those options has to be incredibly good, because I can't fathom 12 pts per model being competatible compared to Witch Elves for 11 pts per model.

Re: New DE armybook RULES RUMOURS
Maybe the hatred is against High elves only.. as it was. He comments that it is only first round, previoulsy we had eternal hatred against Asur. (Initiative being on par with theirs, it would make sence we keep hatred against anyway).

Yes, if the WD battle is against HE, I would believe they would get hatred.

I think it is. It would be fitting(obvioudsly) and the Asur is one of the newest books, so why not?

Still having hatred? That sounds very powerful
Well, apparently it was written by Matt Ward. So it shouldn't be a surprise.

Matt Ward has his broken elements he adds to books, but ASF and Hatred is a bit excessive most of the time, and overpowered in others (Executioners). I hope it's only against HE.
Hydra for 180 pts... wonder how it is statwise (and with new abilities/more upgrades).

Re: New DE armybook RULES RUMOURS
Spearmen can't be 12 points per model, otherwise people would just take more WE (and pay twice as muche money, go figure) or corsairs. I think that they may have something that we are missing, like heavy armour since the new sculpt is really beefy.
Re: New DE armybook RULES RUMOURS
That calculation has to be off. Otherwise a spearman costs the same as a xbowman.

Re: New DE armybook RULES RUMOURS
I 'm also surprised by the cost of the spearmen, maybe there is something special about them that we don't know yet
Re: New DE armybook RULES RUMOURS
I expect the Spearmen to be about 8-9 pts. with the changes and that they became 12 pts with different kinds of upgrades... For 12 pts each, the spearmen would have to be about as good as swordmasters.

Re: New DE armybook RULES RUMOURS
They want to sell new models so expect the new stuff to be cheaper than it would otherwise be. No one will field a 12 point spearman which means no one will buy a 12 point spearman even if it does have armor piercing and ASF.
New Dark Riders - wouldn't surprise me if the Fire and Flee rule comes back
New Witch Elves - expect that point of lost initiative to come back
etc.

Re: New DE armybook RULES RUMOURS
With 12 pts a model, if you remind about the "upgraded" sacrificial dagger (kill one model and get 50% chances of new PD, repeat as many times as you wish until you get the new PD), that would make the added PD average 24 pts, to be compared to the present 6 or 7 pts.

some more concrete rumours here:
http://plastickrak.blogspot.co.nz/2013/ ... leaks.html
Bear in mind they seem to be gleaned from WD, so still a pinch of salt needed.
But ASF, hatred and reroll 1's to wound seems......excessive.

More likely it seems something that GW would do, wink and make the list as a hard counter to Warriors and Daemons again, wink

Re: New DE armybook RULES RUMOURS
Core Witch Elves?! So...ten units of 7 for 700ish points so I win the deployment game which I then throw into anything and everything because they're cheap immune to psych redirectors that I don't care about. And with ASF rerolling 1's and Hatred, they'll crush big blocks of slaves or junky units like skinks.I whittle down the big stuff using RBTs and beat down whatever survives with my hitty units I hold in reserve. Rinse and repeat? Wow...!

Re: New DE armybook RULES RUMOURS
so my best guess on how the units break down by slot:
Core:
Warriors/rxb/swords
corsairs
witch elves
dark riders
harpies
possibly a horse drawn chariot (should be able to make this from the kit)
Special:
black guard
executioners
scourgerunners
cold one chariot
cold one knights
warlocks
shades
hydra
Rare:
charibdyss (sp)
sisters
RBT's
throne
cauldron
manticore
the manticore is wishful thinking on my part...

I'd agree with this list expect for black guard who I think will remain in rare. I can also see a khainite lord level character that unlocks witch elves in core rather than them being a true core choice.
I'd love to hear about the magic items we are supposed to be getting.
Re: New DE armybook RULES RUMOURS
With ASF, makes me wish we'd get the power fist again that DE won in that 6th ed campaign. That would just be cruel to our opponents. >:)

The scourgerunners is a horse drawn chariot, and I doubt it might be core.
I would not be surprised to see BG rare.
COB and Manti, AFAIK, that's mounts, not rare.

yes, the scourgerunner is also rumored to have a bolt thrower, I'm saying a core chariot without this option, simply a horse drawn chariot.
I'm not buying that the new COB/wrack model is strictly a mount option.
Again, the Manti was simply wishlisting on my part, I know that in all of our previous books, they have been mounts only options.
Is the HE equivilant of BG a rare choice? If the same guy wrote both books, what would be the arguement for one to be special, while the other was rare?
