Looks really cool. The heads look bigger in your photos than the White dwarf ones. Maybe I'm just getting more used to it.

Looks very nice, might have to get one myself now xD tho i think ill make the Khalibdyss first.
Can you confirm for me that the 'fangs' on the side of the head of the thing are seperate from the head? I rly hate the way it head looks so i wanted to mount em on a Hydra head xD

Thanks for the link.

Hydra model looks good -- except for that weird belly claw ...

I already have 2 hydras, but I am still going to get a kit to serve as a Kharybdis.

The weird belly claw may represent a leg regrowing.

Now that is a welcome picture... Certainly a confidence booster, for the new model. If it weren't for the Cult of Khaine snatching my money away first, I'd order a pair of the monsters.

I actually hoped it would cause Impact Hits :)
tho it would end with 5 legs then if it was a regrowing one

Unpainted model looks a lot less goofy than in the teal paint job GW gave it on the website. I too have two hydras, but am looking forward to the Khabdyasdfiasodskfio-ah.

I have to admit that looks a LOT better than the images we have been seeing. A decent paint job will make it a fine model.
How about black and orange, like a salamander? Might do that myself :)

Thanks for the pics, mate! Like Daeron said, that's a welcome pic. I'm not sure why but for some reason a lot of the releases lately have looked really goofy in the "official" pics. I had reservations of the model due to the pics in the WD, but these make the model look really good! Thanks again! :)

I've also got one ordered to make the Kharybdiss, as I've already got two Hydras. However, I am thinking of getting a third one, as then I'll have three different models of the same unit! Round out the collection and all that... :D

Is it just me or does the new Hydra looks pretty good unpainted?!

Question - are the DE Warrior shields embossed or is it just a decal we see in the White Dwarf pics?

They are embossed. Click on the pictures of the sprues for close ups and see for yourself :(

The embossed shields (in combination with the decals) is really a dick move - and all out of nowhere: New shields to be bought^^ Well, I've got a hundred or so shields flying around, guess i might use some decals on those.

The Hydra looks btw indeed not half bad. I probably won't need one, but a Kharybdiss (dual double kit in the same army tends to look mehish anyway, imho), but still, it's nice to know the kit is alright. Topknotted hairdos aside^^

Since the models are plastic it should be easy to remove the raised shield icons. Scrape them off with a hobby knife and then smooth the surface with a file or find sandpaper and you are ready for a decal.

It looks like I might get to box of warriors (or two) just for the decals as I suck at freehand and my banners are sad and plain :(

The resin shield pack comes with transfers. Not sure if it's the same transfer sheet or not. If it is, you could save some $$ by buying the shield pack. Or wait, I'm sure they'll end up on Ebay.

Heh heh, those dreadspears do look alot more tempting with trasfer sheets. :)

Hydra looks good. I never thought it looked bad. Just the pictures from GW made it look like a Pet instead of a monster. I just think most of us have 2 Hydra's already so a remake would have to look fantastic to get anyone excited.

You should have magnatized the Hydra heads!!!!!!

I have to agree wholeheartedly!

I actually thought the previous Hydra version looks WAY better than this "upgrade". I already had two Hydras, but I'm going to start grabbing more of the old version off ebay just because I can't believe it's now OOP. Comparing the heads just between the two models, I can't understand how a Gamesworkshop art director allowed this new version to replace the previous amazing Hydra.

I would have rather seen them upgrade our Harpies or how about a war chariot? Don't fix it if it's not broken!

The more I see it, the more I like the serpentine look of the new Hydra. But I use the Reaper Hydra, so it's a completely different look anyway that the new one wouldn't mix to well with it anyway.
