Which list to use

Post by Taijushue »

Been playing on UB lately which is mostly 2500pts and a mix of all armies. i've made 2 lists and wondering what everyones thoughts were on which is a better all around list.

list 2- lots of characters:
------------------------------------------------------------------
lords:

lvl 4 sorc, lifetaker, sac dag, pok, shadow magic

hero:

Master BSB d.peg CoHG, WoA

sorc lvl 2 guiding eye dispell scroll fire magic

master on peg, bms, full mundane, dawnstone, mask of eeeeii!!!!

core:

19 xbows shields full cmd

35 warriors shields full cmd

20 warriors full cmd +1 ld banner

2x 6 harpies

special:

1 chariot

6 shades AHW

5 knights music champ

20 BG full cmd, banner of murder ironcurse icon

rare:

RBT
--------------------------------------------------------------------

so those are my 2 lists, ive tested list 2 once and did well again a DE opponent who gave up start of turn 3.

i normally play lower model DE list, heavy on characters and loading out units with magic banners and items. and ive played a few lists with lots of small units without lots of cmd grps. list 1 is kinda a mix of both, still has bigger units.

anyways just wondering what peoples thoughts were on these lists and which would be better as a all comers list.

I would probably go for list 2.
But the main reason for that would be the second caster with the Dispel Scroll.
I simply like to be able to get a pick of what spells to cast. And a Dispel Scroll has proven to be a game saver at times.

I agree, I tested out list 1 this morning against a skaven player. did not get to finish the game because i had to leave for work but got through 3 turns and wasnt looking good.

My opponent brought 2 HPA and 8 nasty rat ogres with a special packmaster guy that gave em +1A.

was my first time playing a skaven so was in for a shocker when i charge spears and chariot into a HPA and watch him tear me apart. and the next turn the dreaded 13th wiped out my entire BG unit because i didnt have a scroll/enough dice.

i don't like that lvl 4, or rather, if you are using the sac dagger, i'd take shadow. it allows you to make more use of it. if i had to choose i'd pick the second as well

i like dagger and dark because i can cast all 4 spells a turn and still usually have enough extra dice to cast from my lvl2.

i am debating switching my CoB for a peg master bsb for more mobility. if i end up doing that i will probably switch my lvl 4 to shadow as i would need the help without the blessings
