made a list to try out not to be competitive but fun.

2500 pts:

10 corsairs hbows music banner
reaver (pair hbow)

10 corsairs hbows music banner
reaver (pair hbow)

20 corsairs hbows music banner +1ld banner
reaver (pair hbow)

21 corsairs ahw music reaver banner flaming

21 corsairs ahw music reaver banner murder

29 corsairs ahw music reaver banner sss

34 corsairs hbow music banner war banner
reaver (pair of hbows)


lvl 4 sorc lifetaker, pok, dispel scroll, ironcursed icon (shadow) maybe death for ld 10 snipe

dreadlord heartseeker armor of darkness, ring of darkness pair of hbows

Master BSB, armr of E.S., other tricksters, scourge

----------------------------------------------------------2500 total

dreadlord with the 50man unit, march em up the middle and kill, trying to draw missile fire since its a 50man unit

sorc with the 20 handbow unit. 10x2 that was can try and keep her out of b2b when charged by smaller front units.

the flame banner unit should be able to take out any regen units

and the ap unit is there to go after armored units(not saying they will work too great but its their job)

the frenzy unit would go wherever it looks like help is needed.

the 10man units are my redirecters/harassers.

i know there is really no hammer unit and no war machine hunters but i wanted to see what i full corsair army would look like and it looks fairly nice.

I would throw in a BSB of some kind, Possibly a Cauldron.

Take Shadows rather than Death.
Clearly this list is not intended for a win, lacking mobility and hard hitters.
What's your tactics with that?

@mac: i made some changes to add a bsb and swapped focus familiar for a scroll. hopefully this will be good enough to keep me from running from panic and protect against dwellers.

@calisson: yeah this list definitely needs shadow, no it is not meant to win but should be fun to play none the less.

as for the lack of mobility and hard hitting power, with trying to keep all troops corsairs there isnt much i can do in terms of mobility is to protect my flanks, if fliers get to my rear ill have to hope swift reform and shooting with hbows will be enough.

shadow is going to be the only real way to hit hard mindrazor and withering.

This list needs Lokhir just for fluff value alone.

Also I can imagine this army being the most infuriating ever to set up. I hate having to rank up one unit of Corsairs let alone that many.

luckily i am playing on universal battle so setup is easy :)

well the all core battle is over and corsairs did not fair well.

his army had a lvl 4 high magic
lvl 2 metal with choice of spells
bsb sorc banner
noble str6

2 units of spears

horde of sea guard

and 5 units of 10 archers


High elves got first turn.
magic was brutal
flames was cast on the frenzied unit with bsb kills 8
-all dice failed dispel
vauls unmaking destroyed lords armor
drain magic
shooting kills 1

my turn was not great, moved up
magic got boosted miasma on seaguard for -3
then tried a pit that got IF, scattered away from his guys and killed 3 of my corsairs and ended magic phase
IF meant i couldnt dispel flames

HE turn 2.
a mistake in my last movement phase saw my generals unit flanked by spears
flames kills 9 more plus champ
glittering robes on the unit in combat
without any army i chose not to make way but lost combat and fled non the less and was caught.

de turn2
from this point my notes got messed up but it still was not going well for the druchii.
my lord was dead magic was being shut down.
the only thing that was going well was my armor saves vs ranged attacks

the game was over after 3 turns. my rolls were horrible all game, 2 important charges failed by 1/2" and his pursuit rolls were spot on. caught all but one of my units.

we both decided we really liked the idea of all core armies so i will be making a new list of pure core but not limited to simply corsairs and will be playing that game in about a week or so.
