Private Messages on main page

Post by Dalamar »

I missed private messages numerous times since I tend to only check "posts since last visit" and not even go to the main forum site.
And there's no indication whatsoever on the home page if you have private messages or not.
I'd suggest a simple solution.
Where under your avatar and all login detail you have

Tried switching on the e-mail or pop-up notification? That would help.

pop up notification works perfectly for me. Just make sure to set d.net as an exception for your blockers.

done that... but I tend to close popups instantly before they even manage to load
and once the window is closed I proceed to read "posts since last visit" and close the site as my mind is telling me there's nothing new anymore.

On the other hand, the only popups you'll get from d.net are the ones telling you that you have new PMs. You should also be getting email notifications each time you receive a PM, assuming you have it on.

I know only popups from D.net are messages, but it's a reflex to turn off all popups anyway, from the times when browsers were unable to do that. Old habits die hard.

As for e-mail, sure I do get them, among dozens of other reply notifications ;)

Oh! That's why I never get a pop up with my PM's. I put D.net pop ups allowed. Thanks Azure. :D

I didn't, but I still get an IE generated popup saying "Here there be popup", which can only mean one thing.

Turn pop-ups on for Dnet. The nice thing about pop-ups for this site is that while cruising around if you get a new message it will notify you immediately.
While running a million dollar company, singing at weddings, and his frequent jetting to Spain Elton Jon style, Dark Alliance found the time to stand on the doorstep of Games Workshop like Moses and the Pharoah and calmly state, "Let my people go."
