names are changing

Post by Kinslayer »

Are you going to rename the status you get for the number of posts you have done, noble @ 400 should now be master, and highborn should become dreadlord also. You probably already noticed you'd have to change things but just thought id drop you a line ;)

Yeah, guess we have to go with the new titles then... still a few weeks, though, until they are official. ;)

Agreed.

If it comes down to a vote, I`ll definately stick with the old titles remaining as far as post count.

I don`t see any reason to slavishly follow GW on this one. Dreadlord IS a cool title, but it`s not neccessary to change such things IMHO.

I`m sure those who run this esteemed Site have other more exciting (or mundane) and/or pressing jobs to get on with to maintain this wonderful forum.

Each to their own.

Dreadlord is good... its different, supported by the novel fluff..and more characterful than highborn. Master, on the other hand just seems like someone phoned in the hero name and couldn't be bothered.

I quite like both the new names actually. Noble doesnt seem right since the knights are actually the druchii nobility. Im not fussed what the names are for post-count TBH i just thought i would point it out. If the mods did want to change it, it may have passed their notice with everything else thats going on. Trying to be a helpful citizen as to avoid the witches on death night ;)

Keep the old, or meld them together. I wouldn't personally go with the all new names.

just cause the knights are nobility doesnt mean that someone of high status isnt :P

nobility is the highest rank of society other than royalty so just cause the Knights are nobility doesnt mean someone else cant be a noble or of noble blood

I know what you mean (I wanted to keep the executioner thing :( )

Oh well. Since the mods have spoken, I guess we're keeping our old names.

Just a quick reminder that after 1000 points, you're free to choose your own title.

Don't laugh. Someone has ;).

Supreme Sorceress was the main name change I took against in the new book. Master is quite good, but Dreadlord is a teeny bit over the top, even for Dark Elves (It doesn't sound very generic, either).

I'm with Rork, Dreadlord does sound a bit... Cheesy? Master, on the other hand, is one of my favourite words in english so I'm fine with Heroes being called like that :)

Supreme Sorceress is again a bit too much. They'll be Super Sorcs for me :)

I think we wont have to change the titles as it might create confusion and, after all, they are D.net titles, not GW titles ;)

Considering your post count is actually higher, I find this humourously ironic. The good news is that after 1000 posts, most sane people decide it's been fun and stop spamming.

Someday...

Rork edit: And as an admin, one does not spam. One 'parma hams' instead.
That sounds dangerously like 'perma bans'.

dear Heartrender, you did not offend me... i tried to make a little joke - sadly this was not obvious enough (typical forum problem :? )
if you have something to say - go on! that's thé reason why internetcommunities exist...

as long as people have their fun everything is ok - does not matter if you have 473, 576 or 4113 posts ;)

Saithis alright cheers, im fine with what you said im just glad your ok with me too :) Im in no rush to get to 500, but once im an assassin i want to stay there lol.

Back on topic, it seems the mods want to keep the old names than fair enough. I only started this thread to point out the change may need to take place, it wasnt meant to be a discussion
