AGH!!!!! I hate the new rule that you can have htm avatars!!!!! theyre so distracting and chaotic. I really liked it when we had subtle, motionless avatars that everyone was fine with. when I first joined druchii.net that was one thing I thought was really cool. I wish we could go back to just using the ones druchii.net provides us. !evil!

I like it simply because it helps distinguish people better. Far too often you'd see people sharing the same avatar because there wasn't enough to go around. I like it...

im half-half about it. I like it coz i can put in my own cool avatar, but at the same time, it means that theres a lot of non-druchii ones. So i aint sure here...

I think you are ablsoutely justified in hating those darned moving avatars. I can't stand them. My attention span isn't good enough to keep on task and read the text!

On the upside though, the ones that are moving are only moving a little bit, though it would be so much better if they were still, like mine.

I'm going to move this to suggestions (WD isn't exactly the place now and there are already ones in DD). :D

I'll defend my LOTR avatar by saying that the One Ring represents everything the Druchii are. ;)

Yeah the old ones were nice and static, but this allows people to be more unique as Furion said. I don't like avatars that move, but I guess I can't have it all so I'm willing to put up with it.

What this grim, ungainly, ghastly, gaunt and ominous bird of yore
Meant in croaking "Nevermore."

we could just say "no moving avatars", if you persist in using them we'll ban you... but that might be a bit drastic.

I think they help differentiate people better... they are a little distracting, but c'mon, some of them are really cool!

One on it's own isn't bad, it's just when a series of posters have moving ones and you keep seeing them out of the corner of your eye as you type.

@Vraneth look I don't like moving avatars too, but not all avatars are bad  , look at mine its not so big doesn't move and is reletively simple :P , I don't see any thing wrong with most avatars, plus its easier to tell each other apart and adds a felling of uniqueness to board members. And there is nothing wrong with beeing unique unless your a communist

I know what you mean, some posts are one line long but with the avatar take up the space of about 10 lines.

?!? Don't you mean the sigs?

Avatars larger or wider than 80 pixels can't be uploaded...

No, check out Furion's, Imdat's and the new ones that Shadowspite has done for people.

Long sigs can be annoying too.

I don't really mind any of the big avatars, that's really what I grew up with, so to speak. However, I dislike moving avatars. Those can be pretty annoying.

I like this option that you can use your own avatar.
Thisway we are better to reconize and mutch more diverse.
(if, ofc. you have a great avatar 8) )

As it seems that many people dislike moving avatars, couldn't they be prohibited? Or do people with moving avatars just have to live with it that their avatars aren't beloved? Sure, I like the moving avatars anywhere else, but it breaks the calmness of this site...
