Slaanesh Warband For Mordheim........help!

Post by Neondestroyer »

Heya all!

I played my first game of Mordheim today and I lost it but it got me hooked anyway and now I've decided to start a Possessed warband for Mordheim.
As I'm a chaos (especially slaanesh) player by heart it was an easy choice for me to pick them and I thought about doing a slaanesh themed all-female warband.

So I need suggestions of what models I could use and it doesn't matter if theyr're from the 40K or WHFB range because I love converting.

I haven't bought yet the Mordheim rulebook so I'd be grateful if someone could tell me the pros and cons of a Possessed warband.

And sorry in advance if this is in the wrong forum.

All the best,
GF

the biggest con of a possessed warband is the heros are very expensive so the band tends to be small, the big question is this, is this army going to be for an ongoing campaign or is it for standalone games, and if for standalone games, how many points?

Why buy it?

The Mordheim rulebook (along with everything ever published by Specialist) can be downloaded for free on the Specialist Games website.

Anyway, what models you want to use depend on what you want the warband to be. Is it to be an elven warband using Possessed rules? If that's the case, I would advise you to wait for this/the next issue of the Herald (not decided yet), as you might have a surprise.

Well, I'm making a 500 points list to play with every now and then so I'd need some suggestions what to include in it, what weapons to buy and so on.

General rule of thumb: max out the heroes. This will give you:
- More Exp
- More exploration dice -> more money
- More rolls on the buying chary.

Henchmen are easier to add later on.

Could someone help me to make a 500 points Possessed list? I need help because a) I'm just starting Mordheim and don't really know what's a good list b) I don't know how to equip the members in my warband.

Is there some kind of "example lists" or stuff like that?

I'm doing a Possessed warband using Dark Elf models because our gaming group don't allow Druchii warband. So what would be a better way than combining two armies/warbands that I like the most (DE and Chaos) and make it into one? And yes........it's going to be a CoS warband as you might have guessed already.

So why am I asking for help? Easy to answer, when I got a good list with all the equipment and stuff I can plan what models I'm using and the conversions I'm making.

So, pretty please help me to make a good Possessed warband list!

Any suggestions and help is welcomed and appreciated.

Ok, 'nuff said, I'm giving this over to you.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.
All the best,
GF

This is a pretty hard warband to start IMHO. I have never played Possessed so take my advice with a grain of salt.
I might personally try something like this

Magister - dagger, Hammer
Possessed - Great Claw
Mutant - Cloven Hooves, Dagger, Hammer
Mutant - Extra Arm, Dagger, x2 Hammer
3 Beastmen - Dagger, Hammer

Its a small warband but should pack a punch. Since your using Druchii models you might want to base your warband off how the models look.
Anyone else find it kinda interesting that DE will not use gun powder because its unreliable but seem to have no problem using cold ones?
