Gorkamorka...?

Post by Draknir »

Could someone explain me shortly and clearly what is Gorkamorka?

It obviously has something to do with Orcs (or possibly Orks) but what is it?

Similar to Necromunda except its open with vehicles. You have a gang that gains experiance and skills. And you can't forget the Grot revolution!

Yeah, the only things I can particularly add is you need ebay or other second hand methods to buy it.

More information can be found on Ork specific forums, such as the-waaagh forum where there is a Gorkamorka section, and the spec games forum, which can be got to by following links from the GW main site.

There has been a mention by the SG staff on the SG forum that Gorkamorka may make a re-appearance, at least on downloadable pdfs from the Spec Games site in line with the Ork releases late next year.

well, I have the books and markers but have only played it once. Not everyone is exited about playing with orks.

So, let me know if you have a SPECIFIC question. I can't rememember the rules. But I could look up something if you are intrested.

you could play as humans, i think. i loved the vehicles the orcs had. they were so wacky and great!!! would be nice to see a pdf rule book appear. I've never played but its always nice to see different rule sets.

And it has now been released last wednesday... Unfortunately only the Da Roolz and Da Uvver books.

After the Dark Future (mega-)file, I was kind of hoping to see White Dwarf articles and Digganob as well.

This is the game where if a model falls out of your truck its dead? We always joke about that when someones dragon gets tipped over etc...

Great game! Used to play it loads. Basically it's the same idea as Necromunda, but you fight in the open desert. The gangs (normally Orks, but there were also Grots, Humans and Muties) need vehicles to move around the desert so you have trucks and bikes and such. Was loads of fun and totally chaotic!!

@Azure: They didn't die instantly if they fell out, they would just take a hit if the truck was moving fast enough.

Cheers,

Oh that was a fun game to play! But then they adapted the vehicle rules for Necromunda and the game became kinda unnesesarry...There are PDF's with rules and background on SG website.

Can the game be compared to chases like in the Mad Max 2 and 3 movies? Driving mad with home made cars/bikes trying to kill each others? So there actually isn't models on foot?

That's the exact inspiration for this game. Chases, crashes, explosions, desert forts made from scrap etc. hehe I remember that my Ork boss name was "Mad Maghz" :)

Just if anybody's interested, Gorkamorka PDF's are avaiable for free download in the Specialist games section of the GW website.
