Updated Blood Bowl rules

Post by Calisson »

I just noticed that in GW website, Specialist Games Resources / Blood Bowl Resources, contrary to their claim, they don't provide anymore the complete Blood Bowl rulebook.

As a result, the Blood Bowl handbook is not anymore accessible if you don't know the url adress (I had to go through the BB computer game website to get the url, however the non-English GW website still point at the English rulebook as well).
Now, the only rule provided is Blood Bowl competition rules in the English website.

This text is (C) in 2010  - They are working on Jan 1st?

At first glance, the compet rules are exactly the same as the handbook, just taking out every bit of fluff and every picture, leaving only the illustrations required for the game. 27 pages instead of 84.

There are some changes, though.
It seems that most of the Rules Review has been included in the "new" compet rules:

- All planned clarifications have been included.

- Most changes as well (Gobs may bribe for 50k instead of 100k for everyone else  ), however the Halfling chef still costs them 100k.

- Teams: All skeletons are now at 40k and have a thick skull
Khemri have no more mummies but tomb guardians instead, cheaper and less fearsome, not with the characteristic contemplated though (they decay!) - real mummies in Undead teams unexpectedly cost a little more.
Necro's Flesh golems remained at 110k instead of 100k contemplated.

- Star players fee changes were all implemented and Zara now accepts to work for Halflings, HE and WE, as promised.
All new stars contemplated were hired, except Mad Max, however, their fee were changed for many of them.
As a result, all teams have been revised in the Star players they can hire.

There was a completely unplanned change that I noticed in the Norse team: names changed again.
Runners become catchers, Berserkers become Blitzers, Ulfwerners become Werewolf (singular :? ) without changing their characteristics so they have little in common with the Necro werewolves (plural), and the snow troll becomes a Yhetee with no other change.
Alas! The catalog has not been upgraded with missing models.
