Daemons (of the magical flamy type)

Post by Linda lobsta defenda »

No they are not meant to be nice, my only thought is.. exactly how boring will they be to play.. ;)

Lord of change
+Tzeentch Will
+master of sorcery
+Lvl 4 630

Blue Scribes 81

Herald of Tzeentch
+Spell Breaker 140

Herald of Tzeentch
+Spell Breaker 140

16 Horrors
+FC
+Icon of Sorcery 237

15 Horrors
+FC
+Icon of Sorcery 225

15 Horrors
+FC
+Icon of Sorcery 225

3 Screamers 150

6 Flamers 210

6 Flamers 210

Total: 2248

Yupp the nasty magic phase shooty Tzeentch army, it is meant for the rather nasty tourneys around here.

So the horrors hold the line (they are actually not all that fragile since 2 of the units gets a 4+ ward save). The only thing that worries me is the Screamers, I know I could take Furies instead but I kinda want to keep the Tzeentch theme and I need something fast to marchblock, drag out fanatics etc. I am just afraid that they are too fragile.

this guy at the GWShop took carrion wings and added em to plaguebearers, making weird nurgle furies of some sort haha.

Perhaps a tzeentch conversion of Furies could work? o:

Yeah, so far I've tried out a pure slaanesh and a pure khorne army, (friend at EA made a digital warhammer version for us) and I have to say with the new army book you really have to mix to make an interesting and fun list to play.

Personally, I really enjoy playing a khorne/tzeentch list; give that a try and see how it feels for you. Some say its un-fluffy with khorne hating magic and all, but honestly I think that tzeentch could "trick" some khorne warbands into killing things with them, eh?

I've played an all Khorne army since 5th Ed and belive me its not a boring army to play. I played a trial list against a dwarf army and went first. The look on his face as the Bloodthirster, 4 units of Flesh Hounds, 2 units or Furies, and a unit of Bloodcrushers were in his face on Turn 1 wea priceless. I had 3 units of Bloodletters with a Herald BSG trailing. Then on Turn 2 the Bloodcrushers with Skull Totem proceeded to march through a gap in his line and wheeled on the flank of several units. :D

For larger games or for games where I'm not going to be using a Bloodthrister I am looking at using a Tzeentch Herald on Disc and a unit of Flamers. I'm also looking at using Skulltaker on a juggernaut. Can we say killing blow vs a dragon or a giant. Yes we can. :D

I will say though that the list is definitely geared to a mixed army especially since a pure Khorne army no longer has as much magic defence as it used to have in the old book. The 40K daemon codex is designed the same way.

if you don't care about playing nice....i suggest this

Herald Spellbreaker, Flames of Tzeentch (general)
Herald BSB, Banner of Hellfire
Herald Spellbreaker, Flames of Tzeentch
Blue Scribes

15 Horrors Standard, Banner of Sorcery
15 Horrors Standard, Banner of Sorcery
15 Horrors Standard, Banner of Sorcery
14 Horrors Standard, Banner of Sorcery

3 Screamers
3 Screamers
3 Screamers
3 Screamers

6 Flamers
6 Flamers

that gives something like 12 casting dice, 9 dispel dice, and tons of flying interuptions, shooting, and overal nastiness....complete boredom and anger to whoever you play against though

Hope theres no comp in your area! On the west coast that list would get slammed on sports and comp sooo hard!

and very boring, just like the SAD.

No there is no comp and people expect the nastiest things you can make in the tourneys around here (something my druchii are totally incapable of).

I agree that it would be a pretty boring list to play against personally.

However, I don't think you should feel like you have to sacrifice furies to stay fluffy. They're pretty much the one daemon unit that is completely neutral. You can always deck them out to fit a Tzeentch uniform.
